I'm in shock, I just hatched two blue puppers within 5 eggs of each other! I guess this a gift after my thousand egg oshawott hunt, though in hindsight, I wish I swapped parents when the second shiny hatched, but my brother gets one now so at least that's good. Now I'm going to hunt for Day Lycanroc in a beast ball. At least I don't have to worry about getting the HA for this one.

Blue = Bad

But the pink color is somewhat new, so everyone uses it for different things. Personally, I use it to mark a stat that's boosted by the nature AND a perfect IV.

Its certainly a heck of alot faster since magikarp eggs hatch in like 30 seconds of tauros' wild rodeo compared to others like happiny eggs that take like 5 minutes of constant moving to hatch.

So far I've gotten 3 with the method: A minior, a staryu, and a mimikyu. Compared to the several hundred boxes of failed normal masuda methoding without using magikarps, its an improvement.

I like to get about a box of eggs and hatch 2 sets, then on the 3rd set grab each egg as it pops up while running around on Tauros. Maybe not the most effective way, but it keeps me ahead without getting the shiny on egg 28 and having to hatch 10 more boxes for no good reason.

So I've never tried to breed swap before but just to make it simple, if I just keep ditto in there and only use gendered Pokémon holding everstone I should be able to just swap out magikarp and swap in the gendered Pokémon with no problems? Can the Pokémon nature or gender be different?

To sum it up yes, you only have to do another step if it's a non-gender/one-gender pokemon.

Essentially, the way shiny breeding works in this game; you put pokemon in and the game detemines far in advance what IVs get passed down, what gender it rolls (1-8), and what ability it gets (aka if it's decided not to get the HA from the parent, it never will on that chain)

Magikarping is basically just shortening the time between the counts. It's pretty useful too, if there's more than one shiny pokemon you want, you can go until you get the shinky Karp, check it's ability, gender and IVs, and then swap in for whichever it fits the bill best for. You have to have parents prepared well before hand, though, because again, if you swap, you get a different pre-calculated chain set. I've been going for a shiny female popplio, but the 4 shinies I've found on the way I've swapped into other useful mons I want based on IVs

I was able to transfer a shiny Dialga from pic relateds physical cartridge, over to my legit emerald cartridge, where it converted into a Shiny rayquaza.

The Rayquaza was white with blue highlights, apparently due to a a sprite error or code bs.

It had no ill effect on my emerald game.

I eventually moved it forward to plat (where it became a regular shiny rayquaza), then to black and couldn't transfer it any further than that.

Its an oddity, and people always call bullshit on it whenever I bring it up.

So I'm sure there's a way for you to transfer it over somehow.

Genderless Pokemon have the potential to mess things up. If you swap a genderless in raw without rejecting an egg, it offsets the shiny roll by one, but because you have so many rolls with shiny charm + masuda method, offsetting it like that will still usually keep it in the correct range.

For a normal pokemon, if you roll 1-80 you get Ability A, if you roll 81-100 you get Ability B. Or 1-20 for Ability A and 21-100 for Ability B if they've GOT ability B. 80% either way. 50/50 if male

5 days in, pretty much constant breeding, still no shiny doggo. I switched to the Magikarp method, but to no avail. I want to stop, I really do, but I'm breeding the Rockruffs in a Net Ball, which only barely matches the colors of shiny Lycanroc-Night. For me to give up and settle for a red dog in a net ball would be bad for my balltism.

I'm at over 70 boxes of Magikarps and Rockruff total. I celebrated my 2000th hatch with a cup of ice cream, though. I guess that's cool.

Is there a reason you guys hatching don't just use Magikarps? It is so fuckin' easy. I've gotten 3 shinies in the past week with less than 500 eggs total. Just get a few parents ready for the swap and then get to grinding. That way when I don't get that 1/8 shiny Popplio I can swap it for something else based on IVs or gender or w/e. Why woud you make hatching take longer?

Though it's pretty shit that there are so many pokemon I can't switch in, whether it be egg move unavailablity or just the pokemon being unavailable.

Mine hatch quickly enough that getting magikarps wouldn't make too much of a difference. That said the thing keeping me from hatching the eggs faster is my own boredom. Day 8 now. 16 boxes.

Decidueye looks rather nice with its cyan coloring and red tie. Araquanid is also pretty cool since it reminds me of a black widow. Also can't go wrong with a black and gold sandcastle.

I will warn you if you go with the dewpider though through chaining since it has infestation and can trap your pokemon in with spider web, so bring plenty of healing items if you attempt it.

Not sure. Adamant was my first choice, but I like to look at sets before I make a decision. Speed reducing natures might work since its speed already isn't much to write home about- maybe it can fit on a Trick Room team that way.

Finally said fuck it to waiting for Bank, finished my dex and got the shiny charm. Just breeding up a Jolly Mimikyu since it seems simple enough to not fuck up; even if I get bad stats I can just bottlecap it up.
