When did you last play it? When I played it on release I thought it was worse than 1 and I always considered it the worst but when I went back and revisited the whole series before Phantom Pain came out it quickly became my favorite.

Just a year or so back, maybe 2015. I'll retry it soon I guess when I have the time. It just didn't command my attention like the rest of the series. I doubt I'll like it as much as PW, 3, or V (the environments of those games is something that I love about them, although 3 and PW stand on their own without the great locations,) but maybe I'll enjoy it more than I have previously.
