Greninja is cancer in a different sense buddy. Greninja is useful in competitive, there's no denying that. But Greninja is cancer because of a few things:

1: The shilling by gamefreak. Its almost like they made Chesnaught and Delphox as an after thought or because they realized "oh, fuck. Gen 6 still needs two other starters!"

2: The preferential treatment it gets. Greninja got into smash bros, got a broken not-mega form so it doesn't take up an item slot and has a far more expansive movepool than it has any right to have (seriously, why the fuck does this thing learn extrasensory?). Not to mention even without its deviantart-tier special form it got in gen 7, it got protean which is leagues better than what Chesnaught and Delphox got as THEIR hidden abilities. Chesnaught's is great and checks a lot of things sure, but its extremely situational and Delphox's is just plain worthless. Greninja's though? Broken, when coupled with its speed.

4: The ashime. That's all I really need to say on that subject.

Definitely bad. The only thing you could ever argue is broken is the dual dance Z-Fly set and that is really not broken.

Regular defensive Lando is basically holding the meta afloat.It checks/counters things like Zard X, some other Landos, Heatran, Metagross, Excadrill, Garchomp, and many other physical attackers, but these 5 in particular would run the meta with lando gone. Banning Lando would mean that these pokemon would take over and probably become broken themselves.

I seriously doubt it. Even if Sakurai had decided to add Chesnaught or Delphox into the game, you have to consider early reception. Back in the first six months after X/Y's release, before Greninja had any sort of appearance in anime or merchandise besides the typical starter plushies, he was already one of the most popular pokemon of modern times. All big polls named him best gen six pokemon. He also sold five times as many plushies as his Delphox and Chesnaught counterparts and was a big name amongst pokemaniacs.

If Chesnaught or Delphox would've been addded it would've most likely have only bumped up their popularity up to his level for a while, but would've ended up as a shot in the foo in the long run because of the early attach rate the frog got would rile up a MUCH BIGGER wave of disappointment than the one we currently have.

In layman's terms, a Smash addition would've made Chesnaught and Delphox popular, but Greninja was already popular at that time, so the difference is that he became extremely popular after the fact. I think the right choice was made.
