Do you think they are all there because of the event and will keep going on like that after it?
I've got 4 10ks since Christmas started and before that I hadn't seen them in about a month.
With the free incubators thing going on I thought it was normal that 10ks were dropping more usually but I got a couple since it ended and that's really a rare sight for me.
So I don't know if I should consider it dumb luck, that the even't isn't over yet or just that it'll be permanent.

Really hoping it'll be permanent because I'm feeling that my luck is getting better with these 10ks.

I did complete my EU pokedex yesterday, got hitmonlee while walking in the next town to my home, was lvl1 CP15 but so what. At the evning, well moving from one gym to the next it started rain, first ice then iced water than just water - because I had depleted phone battery earlier I was on the backup. Later at home when the phone was on wall charge, already some 30 minutes later, I did hear the phone to make psssss sound like a snake - It did wonder me a lot as I had my phone fully muted. I checked and yes there was sound/noise coming from the phone! I pulled the microUSB cable out, and did see light inside the connector. For some unexplained reason I did push my thumb onto the connector covering up the light coming from it... and felt smell of burned skin of course. The phone still works, I am amazed. TL;DR Be warned, water and electro do not go together, do not charge your phone when walking in rain.

Worth maxing this out or should I use candies on my other dragonites? I have an 89% 2929 that won't have checked numbers until 3333 cp, which would cost 100 candies. I do have an 82% sw/dp nite that I caught at 2699 I could power up.

Today one of my staff told me she hatched an Eevee from 10km. (She doesn't play much and not experience of PMGO) I don't believe her at the beginning and told her that Eevee is no longer hatched from 10ks. However, when she proofed to me in her Journal afterward, there is an Eevee was hatched with 379 CP at 1600 stardust to PowerUp. And she is level 21.
How could this be possible? And I was thinking if there is a bug that, the Eevee is already hatched long ago back to September when she was lvl 15 or something. And that time the Eevee was hatched from 10ks. This is the only explain I'm able to think of. Thoughts?

The buddy system has been out for a long time now but I thought I would share my tips on what pokemon you should walk. This is more a guide for people with quite a few gaps in there dex but may help others when gen 2 is fully released.

My first tip is do not walk any pokemon that you see on a regular basis. I walked geodude to start with as I was 80 candy off and they were quite rare for me. Now looking back it was a waste of time as I now have lots of geodude candy to spare

I would also recommend to stop walking your buddy when you get close to amount of candy you need. This will mean you can walk another pokemon sooner and there will be more pokemon you are looking for in the wild when playing so makes it more fun. The worst that can happen is that you come back to that mon

If you are walking a pokemon such as a dratini and are likely to power the evolution in the future then there is no harm in walking it all the way until you evolve it. This way any excess candy you do end up getting from wild catches can be used to power it up and it won't feel like a waste

Ensure you can still hatch the 2, 5 and 10km eggs and still get a pokemon you need. If you evolve all the 5km egg pokemon then it will make 5km eggs boring to hatch.
I do think in the future another event will be held which reduces the distance your buddy needs to find a candy. It is best to walk pokemon that normally need 5km per candy during this time as it saves the most distance (assuming it's a multiplier like before)

Although it hasn't really been discussed since early in it's introduction, the buddy candy reward is far, far too stingy.. To get enough candy for one dragonite, you would need to walk 620km (5km*124 candy). Which, making the bold assumption that your distance is accurately tracked, is basically walking from Nashville to Columbus, plus an additional 10km.

And that would be perfectly fine, if we were not so heavily reliant on the buddy system for getting candies that are hard to find. In countless threads, you hear people mention they are buddying snorlax/lapras because they only caught one or two, or when people ask how to find more machop to finally get the machamp they need to complete their pokedex, people are told to 'buddy it'. The reality is, there is far too much that the buddy system is relied on for.

YUp. I'm super thankful I hatched two snorlaxes at level 20 during the double candy event and rolled high - have them both at max level for me(like 26 ish) with some left over.
