if they look especially squishy and rounded, and/or a calm and serene demeanor, like op's pic, or perhaps they seem very reflective, like regice

SpDef is mystical and fairy-looking.

Notice most Fairies lean toward SpDef, and then you have stuff like Milotic and Ninetales/Alolan Ninetales who also press that notion.

Well, special attack is either intelligence or ability to put out a lot of energy, so sp. defence is obliviousness (slobro) or the ability to absorb energy (anything squishy and absorbant like tentacruel).

What does a Ground-type looks like?

Grass: Plants, Mushrooms and Algaes.
Poison: Looks poisonous.
Fire: Body is covered on fire or has fire patterns.
Flying: Has wings or looks like a bird (lel Gyarados).
Water: Lives on water or has water patterns.
Bug: Is based on bugs and insects.
Normal: Animal
Electric: Has thunder patterns or is based on things related to electricity.
Fighting: Based on any martial arts.
Psychic: Looks weird or related to magic.
Rock: Rock and stones are part of its body.
Ice: Either is a seal or has ice and snow on its body.
Ghost: Design is weirder than Psychics.
Dragon: Based on dragons or is a reptile (lel Mega Ampharos).

Steel: Body is metal or covered by metal (lel Lucario)
Dark: Design is mainly black and looks like something that wants to attack you.

Fairy: Looks girly (lel Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu)
