Bulky Offense is about using Pokemon that can take hits and hit back, Hyper Offense is about setting up rocks and then sweeping with super powerful fast pokemon, Stall is about being an annoying no fun faggot and making your opponent forfeit or die of toxic and meme seeds, and weather is about using weather to your advantage.

I have never picked a Fire-Type starter in the 20 years of the franchise. I always trade for them on GTS/from friends and breed my own for completion sake.

I absolutely hate following pokemon. If it ever comes back I hope it's optional.

I use smogon copy/paste sets to beat my friends who play casually. They all think I'm some kind of legitimate pokemon master.

I was once part of a Pokemon roleplay and became the poison type gym leader. It was on another site with forums more conducive to the activity. I did this as a teen. I liked Sinnoh and Cynthia a lot. I know both can be divisive.

Gen 3 nearly made me quit the series. I simply could not get into it. Gen 4 make me love it again. Replaying the games now, especially Emerald, I dont dislike gen 3 as much but it still hard for me to get into those games.

I hated using non-damaging moves on my movesets until I realized how valuable some could be.

I think z moves and mega evolutions are both fine additions to the series.

I hope we get more cross gen evolutions at some point. Or, at least new branches off old lines.

SM is a masterpiece, I feel I can safely say, a milestone in the Pokemon Anime history. Much like OS, SM brings new light and brilliance to something we didn't know could exist. It brings pure comfyness and comedy and an excellent array of characters to keep you hooked.

What's so good about it you ask? Why's this anime good enough to be deemed a milestone. It's simple. Ash's personality. His character posses such a strong charisma that you can't help but feel attracted and entertained by him. Lana, Mallow and Lillie along side him complete an incredibly well written group.

Enough rambling, the story is awesome. Don't worry about the ratings though, that makes the anime more interesting.

The Animation is top notch. There's one episode where a particular character is walking and the legs move perfectly. Beautiful fight scenes (though these are short and infrequent) too.

The sound/music is pretty decent, with the opening and ending pretty catchy. Nothing amazing though.

I only gave the characters a 9/10 because there still isn't enough information given about everyone to really get to know the character.

10/10 for enjoyment, without a doubt.

If you haven't picked this series up, do it now. It's one of those "must sees" and you will not regret it.

as a kid using my ingame team i managed to get 20 wins at the battle arcade,, the battle castle and the battle hall

I lived in Flipland, so when I was first introduced to the series it was RBY on a 28-in-1 cartridge and we cheesed through it on Articuno + starter. I was like 5 and it was 2003.

As third-world countries always go, if you're not super careful about sources then it's practically a guarantee that your game is a bootleg, which it was when I picked up the series again two years later when our parents taped a copy of Pokémon Emerald to the wall as a reward for good grades. So I guess I have Pokémon to thank for being an honor student and staying that way until university.

I never actually got the chance to buy my own games until White 2 (although I've still played all the gens), which is probably why I poured so much time into it and why it's probably my favorite gen, III being second, but that being said I never understood the need for pointless genwarring on /vp/ apart from the fact that it's fucking /vp/. Gen 5 had its flaws but I'll stick by them.

Ever since I saw the English name reveal of the Ruby and Sapphire starters in Nintendo Power, Mudkip has been my favorite Pokemon. I loved almost everything about Mudkip I could find as long as it was pure (no hentai or degenerate shit). The day I got my copy of Sapphire was one of the happiest days in my life because I could finally meet the cute Water Pokemon I fell in love with.

Fast forward to now and I have four Mudkip plushies that occupy my bed and a quickly growing Mudkip merch collection on a bookshelf. When I am depressed I cuddle one of the Mudkip, because my Mudkip plushies have smiling, happy expressions and just looking at their faces makes me feel better. I also breed Mudkips constantly in ORAS for a variety of competitive settings and sometimes I give them away on Wonder Trade so other people can experience the joy of happy, cute Mudkips. I also pay for Pixiv Premium so I can find godtier Japanese fan art of Mudkip and save it to my 1gb and counting folder of Mudkip art. My boyfriend tolerates, even encourages, my Mudkip collecting and will buy me new pieces for my collection. My immediate family knows about my love of Mudkip and will send me cute pictures sometimes, especially on my birthday. I also want to build the ideal tank setup for three axolotls because they remind me a lot of Mudkip and it is the closest thing I will ever have to having a real life Mudkip in my life.

I am normally quiet about this because of the "do you liek Mudkips?" meme that was a thing back in '07-'08 (or so my memory goes). I don't want to fug a Mudkip. I just want to cuddle one and be happy.

Gen IV nearly made me quit the series and it's my least favorite generation because of this. Gen V got me back into it because I went in blind.

Although I began with Yellow, I didn't get another main game until SoulSilver. I had several of the spinoffs during that time however.
I nearly lost my interest in Pokémon due to being massively disappointed by Gen VI, Sun and Moon made me like the series again.

I skipped gen 5 cuz it wasn't cool to play pokemon when it came out. I emulated white and I genuinely thought it was as good as emerald.

I hate smogon. Mostly because I got my amatuer competitive team wrecked by one of my friends who used smogon and had an Uber team. I did not know about smogon at the time and just made up my own strategies, which worked against the other kids at my middle and high school, up until that asshole destroyed me 6-0. I still feel bitter.
First game I ever played was Pearl. I enjoyed it, and still enjoy it. I went back and played them all too. I did not like any gen 1 2 or 3 games, sorry. I just couldn't get into them. 4 I loved, probably mostly from nostalgia. B/W wasnt my favorite since I was only stuck with new Pokemon until post game. I loved B2/W2, my galvantula, Haxorus, braviary, and lucario were involved in breeding the perfect IV copies that I would use in Y and OR. I wanted to find a way to breed them into my line, that way I could say they were related to my older mons and that way I'd have a better connection with them. I eventually did this with my forst pokemon, empoleon, too.

I don't like it when a Pokemon I like is high tier OU (or OU in general this gen) or Uber.

Not because I don't want my favourites to be popular or used a lot, but because their peers in those tiers are too threatening. I can't compete in that level of play so I'll never be able to win with them.

Couple years ago, I had a plan to raid /mlp/. I was planning to use this board to assist in this, so I decided to make two threads, one for each board. Note that chandulure is the starter image for each thread.

Soon enough, people from both ends started to mock me, yet my autistic self, rather than delete the threads, applied damage control. This damage control was all done under the name of chandulure.

Eventually, someone posted a piece of pokeporn (idk what the first was, but I believe it may have been a picture of anthro slyveon), and soon, both threads became spammed with rule 34 of both franchises, all while I continued to get berated at.

Finally, both threads got removed, or maybe even just pruned. Many people got banned, many others got off free. I'm not sure what happened to me; probably was temp banned.

I find competitive games to be a fucking retarded concept. Sure, it's a nice hobby but I never understood the mentality behind it. This mentality of, "become a pro" seems stupid. Not only do you have to spend a lot of time playing, but you also have to gain skills which are very hard to gain. And even if you win and become the Pokémon world champion chances are you're almost definetely a depressed virgin who spends too much time playing games, which both drains you mentally, physically, and sometimes even emotionally. I am all of these things but that's beyond the point.

Most do it for fun, but I just can't find any fun in it.

Sun and moon are the best games in the franchise, they nail everything so well and idk about the contrarians, they're masterpieces yet they so have some flaws but despite those flaws they're my favourite games in the franchise.

I fucking hate the pokemon sun and moon anime becuase its so innacurate on the story and characters compared to sun and moon, but i do like the animation.

Gen 5 is fucking amazing and i dont see why people hate it on this board despise it so much and call it a dissapointment, i loved that you could only find new pokemon in black/white, made the games feel really fresh.

My other bit of autism is that I've always tried to mimic how an NPC would have a Pokémon team, which meant if I was playing as a boy then all my mons would follow the gender ratio and be male (so female only if it's >=75% skewed), and I'd only use Poké Balls. I'm surprised it took them until Gen 7 to actually have NPCs use something that's not reg Poké Balls but I've invested too much in using only them to quit now.

The thing about gender ratios has only applied once because I've only ever had one mon that had a forced ratio (Florges).

Most of them are UU, and it definitely hurts my chances, but every time I fuck someone up with Gastrodon it makes my day. Speaking of ROMhacks, most of them are far better than the official games. Prism was excellent, and so was Rutile Ruby/Star Sapphire.

I'm generally not against change. I try to focus on enjoyable things in each new generation/games, and not waste my energy in complaining about small stuff. I beat Sun yesterday, nice game btw, but gfd has it also cemented my one true dislike in newer generations. The point: I miss those rivals who started as kind of a dicks, a bullies, who I did not have to suffer all that often in the end. Having flock of these... pseudo-rival/buddy characters running behind me, rushing to explain some stupid shit at every turn just kills my mood. I think GF hit the bottom with Lillie. Story of 7th gen games was way too much focused on her effin family issues, and to me at least that was painfully boring. I tried to give her chance, just like I did with other annoying buddy characters, but I have never wanted to strange any of them as strongly as I want to strangle Lillie... I get that Hau was our rival, not her, but his arc was flat as fuck, probably because game wasted so much effort to... dunno, get us have some moe feels about the bag carrying cunt??? ...I guess wishing there was more bullies (and less hand-holdind, that was another minor thing that got on my nerves at the beginning of game) in video game targeted for children is not all that cool, but whatever.
