How the fk can a Tsareena be faster than a Greninja?

PS:
Greninja has 31 IVs/252 EVs in Speed and Modest Nature.

It's because max speed Tsareena outspeeds a Modest Ash-Greninja by a single point.
Call her queen.
>>
>>31224284
It doesn't even outspeed uninvested regular Greninja.
>>
>>31224342
yeah, it does.
neutral nature greninja with 0 investments in IVs or EVs has 249 speed

Tsareena maxed out in Speed investment and a speed nature has 267 (only by a sad 18 points)

However this still doesn't explain the actual point. It's obvious OP is a dipshit who missed tailwind. Next time save the video before you come on here to blog.
>>
>>31224409
Uninvested doesn't mean 0 IVs, just no boost. No one does that unless they run Trick Room and if they do they don't use Greninja.

>However this still doesn't explain the actual point. It's obvious OP is a dipshit who missed tailwind
Pretty much. Impossible moves is one thing, but unless you think they actually have 999 Evs or some shit, this situation is impossible.

You must be trolling right? If you wanted to talk about weird RNG rolls on secondary effects or the enemy team frequently selecting pokemon that are good vs your lead pokemon, sure you might have some substance to argue with. Seriously thinking the game gives free stat boosts to the enemy?

The only thing that comes to mind in the Battle Tree is Kommo-o with Shell Smash, but that along with other Pokemon that you can face but can't obtain in the tree should become unlocked once the Pokebank opens up.
>>
>>31220623

Can someone give advice on team building? I'm not new to pokemon but when it comes to team building I always just kind of threw pokemon that I liked together, so long as they were not the same type I just assume it will work out. The people in the Battle Tree threads seem to think it's hard enough to really push you though so I think it may be time to actually put thought into my teams.

I know I want to bring one rock type pokemon, so the next logical thing is to being a pokemon that covers Rock type weaknesses. Should I bring a stall mon into the tree? Should I have to somehow have an answer to every single type of opponent on my 3 pokemon? I made a hypothetical team of 3 in my head, but they don't have an answer to steel types.

>>
>>31225027
No, you go full Hyperoffense in Battle Tree, No stall shit. The tree needs to fuck you over only once, while you have to get through atleast 50 Trainers. Stall gives your opponent more time to fuck you over, to get that one 30% OHKO roll or that one crit they need.
Sure, full HO doesn't mean you'll instantly win, but at least it gives your opponent less time to fuck you over.
>>
>>31225436
Got those battle replays?
>>
>>31225070
They'll gonna tell him the same shit we told him: He's a fucking retard and missed a Tailwind.
>>
>>31225505
Pretty much this. If you really want switch ins I'd suggest mons that despite defensive investment still hit hard. Think thank chomp or AV Primarina. They are tanky but they still do the job of dealing damage. Now, one could argue there are better mons out there doing the same job but hey it's an example. Stall works, but HO does an even better job.
>>
>>31225575
I'd say in my experience you get more out of megamence than chomp. Like you said though, bulky shit that hits hard will do well. The two things I'd say are the most important for the battle tower are being able to safely switch in and hitting hard, since switching is really the most important thing there is when it comes to working around the AI

Choice of mons seem to cover each other's weaknesses nicely but it feels like there's a lack of momentum and a concern is whether or not you'll be able to have the right mons out at the right time, and whether you can bring them in safely.

I can see some Rotom leads like Mow, Fly and Frost giving you a hard time. Mow and Fly threaten Bulu and Muk with WoW which could render them basically useless while having type advantage over Slowbro, while Frost forces you to superpower with Bulu and then switch out assuming Superpower kills. Look out for Sash Gengar as well as other mons that pack sleep status as this team seems highly susceptible to sleep as well as burn.

Haven't tried Slowbro myself in the tree but it looks like it'll have a good handful of opportunities to setup and sweep teams.

Just take the team for a spin and report back with what you had trouble with!
>>
>>31227115
All you say makes sense. Tapu Bulu was a last minute addition, but seems to fit nice covering the others. I haven't faced any Rotom form yet, though. Sash Gengar, on the other hand, is a hard match up, so I'm thinking about adding some form of priority

>>
>>31225505

What a contradiction.

"The tree needs to fuck you over only once."

That is the key, that is why Pokemon that can tank some hits and set-up are the most consistent and reliable choices in the Tree. You need to do everything in your power to maintain consistency. Recovery, Substitute to status/crit-sponge and boosting are crucial to 50+ streaks. You don't necessarily need all of them, but at least some of them.

Hyperoffense is great for the first 30 battles, but once the big-guns start coming out on the opposing side, Hyperoffense starts seeing it's flaws. 1-2 bad match ups vs a Hyperoffensive team and the game is done.

I started off using Lele/Kartana/M-Gyarados. It was solid but Kartana/Lele have nothing to properly fall back on vs opponents they can't tank so just a few bad match ups and they crumpled, if it was a Pokemon that Gyarados couldn't handle then the match was lost.

Aegislash + Ground immune Intimidate core is probably one of the best switch cores and has responsible for my 70+ streaks.

Any tips for a doubles hail team? I was doing pretty good ~35 battles with Ninetails, sandslash, mega gyarados, and garchomp before losing to a rain team with pelipper, mega swampert, greninja and kingdra.

Honestly it was a breeze until then but I guess I was over reliant on aroura veil/slush rush. I'm just not sure what I can do to make sure I can do to beat opposing weather when every other setter out-slows and overrides hail.
>>
>>31228139
Porygon-z going ice type with z-conversion and spamming Blizzard alongside Ninetales does wonders on a hail team.
If hail is gone then you have to manage to switch Ninetales back in, there's no other solution I know of. If Aurora Veil is in play the risk of doing that is reduced
>>
>>31225151
Meganium isn't going to be winning anything. Its stats are all over the place, barely has a movepool to work with, not enough defenses to be a wall/tank, not enough speed and attack to be a sweeper...Hell, the worst part is its 80 speed which is no mans land as far as speed tiers go: too slow to sweep, too fast to be useable in trick room.

Winning with pokemon you like IS possible because I was able to score 50 wins in the battle maison in ORAS with a fucking Chesnaught and mega Blastoise. But Meganiums stats just don't do it any favors.

>Tsareena survived thanks to Focus Sash
Wait what the fuck. Since when does Mallow have a Sash Tsareena? The only sets listed on Serebii's Battle Tree catalogue are AV and Scarf.
Also, have this:
>252+ SpA Greninja-Ash Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tsareena: 130-154 (88.4 - 104.7%) -- 25% chance to OHKO (at level 50)
If you weren't running a boosting item, you just got a low damage roll against a Scarf Tsareena. That's why you lost.

Okay kids listen up! Here's the secret to battle tree! Cheese the AI.

Porygon-Z@normaliumZ
Adaptability
Timid, 4hp 252spa 252spe
Shadow Ball
Conversion
Thunderbolt
HPFighting

The battle tree will generate lots of fighting type leads to counter your normal type lead. Lucky for you, you use Z-Conversion to become a ghost type and they can't touch you. Now sweep with shadow ball, which thanks to Adaptability does heaps of damage.

Sometimes this won't work. It happens. Luckily for you, you brought two other Pokemon.

Pheromosa@life orb/focus sash
Adamant
252atk 4def 252spe
Poison Jab
High Jump Kick
Lunge
U-Turn

Bring this in if you can OHKO whatever is in. Spoiler alert: you almost definitely can. It's also probably a dark type since they present a problem for your Porygon-Z, and you destroy those. After one Beast boost, which will affect your attack due to this spread, you can sweep. U-Turn out if you somehow can't OKHO.

Metagross@Metagrossite
Adamant
252atk 4def 252spe
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch
Zen Headbutt
Earthquake

Bring this in to clean house. It requires a little RNG to get moving, with meteor mash as your primary attack, but it gains momentum. Basically wreck stuff.

There you have it. This will go far in the tree. Maybe I'm biased since Porygon -Z is my bro, but I havent found a better strategy.

Okay, I asked this in one of the previous threads, but I can't remember the answer.

Bottle caps increase the stats of a Pokemon to the point at which they were as if the Pokemon had a perfect 31 IVs in each stat. However, Bottle Caps don't raise the actual IV, leaving inheritance and Hidden Power's type unaffected.

Also, Regardless of a Pokemon's EVs or IVs, a stat benefiting from a nature will always have a higher limit than the stat of a Pokemon with a neutral nature.

Therefore, if one has enough patience to raise a Pokemon to level 100 and enough Bottle Caps, they only need to breed for a beneficial nature, egg moves, and shininess, correct?
>>
>>31237722
Who should I pair with it for multi?
>>
>>31238203
If you wanted but bottle caps are pretty rare and leveling a Pokemon to 100 takes forever in Sun and Moon
>>
Someone mentioned a good mixed mega lucario set a thread or two ago but I can't find it.

Anyone have one?
>>
>>31238203
Correct, but it's usually faster to breed until you get one with the IVs you want than to level something to 100. Bottle caps should be saved for legendaries and shinies.
>>
>>31238254
>>31238265
Alright. Just asking hypothetically.

But one more thing, to those who hacked the game: Does the pokedex do the same thing in XY where if it's not native to the region, you don't get a crown for the corresponding area?
>>
>>31238203

Yes but it's unviable to rely on hyper training.

It's only for shinies, legendaries, and easy Hidden Power breeding.

Hey guys, please help me with my doubles team, here is what I used:

Torkoal @ Figy Berry
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Overheat
- Heat Wave
- Solar Beam

Oranguru @ Mental Herb
Ability: Telepathy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Taunt
- Trick Room
- Foul Play
- Instruct

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Toxic
- Scald
- Ice Beam

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Brick Break
- Megahorn

Standard Torkoal + Oranguru set. Taunt on Oranguru to shut down setter and status moves user. Gastrodon to face opposing Fire mons. Bulu to face Ground and Rock mons.

I have troubles when facing rather bulky Fire mons, like Rotom-H and Thyplosion/Ninetales with Flash Fire. Gastrodon doesn't have access to Earth Power so I have to use Scald that is weakened by sun, and that's not enough to kill those bulky Fire mons.

I'm considering switching Gastrodon with Marowak-A. I think it can kill Fire mons with Bonemerang easily ? What do you guys think ?
Also, should I switch Oranguru's Mental Herb to something else ? I've never seen anything used Taunt on it. Sometimes it faints before it successfully activates Trick Room.
And what do you think of the Bulu ? Any other mons more suited to my team ?

Kingdra@Life Orb

The team's basic idea is to Entertain the SD'ing Golisopod on the first turn, making his Aqua Jet effectively 120BP, then do whatever you need to do on the 2nd turn - either decide it's enough and begin the bugmageddon with two STABbed WB users on the field, or switch in Pelipper, turn on the rain, then switch him to Kingdra on the next to begin a LO-boosted sweep. If they kill/EE Golisopod on the first turn, you can Entertain Pelipper or Kingdra anyway

this OP here, team indeed hits like a truck, trying super doubles now. since Cell Battery doesn't give electric immunity after all, I'll have a go at Darkinium-Z

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you back up a save file? I'm sick of the Tree's bullshit, so I'm just going to cheat. I have Soundhax.
>>
so my single battle tree team consists of:

Garchomp @ Life Orb // Rough Skin
252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP - Jolly
- EQ, Fire Fang, Dragon Claw, Swords Dance

Metagross @ Metagrossite // Clear Body
252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP - Jolly
- Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, BPunch, Hammer Arm

Starmie @ Focus Sash // Natural Cure
252 SpA / 252 Spd / 4 HP - Modest
- Hydro Pump, TBolt, Ice Beam, Recover

if i wanna do doubles, what 4th pokemon should i bring? my team's weak spot type-wise includes dark/ghost moves and psychic types.

Roost helps with setting up some DDs and Double Edge just deals insane damage.

If you are sure you can kill in one hit: Double Edge

If there is a good chance that the enemy will survive and kill in return: Switch

If you can roost through anything the enemy can do to you: Set up as many DD as possible

All you ever do with that Megamence. Sometimes it's also good to not go Mega right away and instead switch out and back in to get 2 intimidate drops. Works really well against enemies who try to Earthquake your other mon.

For doubles, lead with Tapu Koko and Xurkitree and spam tbolt. That alone can win most of your battles. For the other two, use whatever you want, as long as they're not weak to ground.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Haze
- Toxic
- Baneful Bunker

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Flame Charge
- Shadow Bone
- Bonemerang

Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Moonblast
- Freeze-Dry
- Aurora Veil

Porygon-Z @ Normalium Z
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Tri Attack
- Conversion

This is working great so far for me. Lead with A-Ninetales and Porygon-Z. If nothing can OHKO you, cast Aurora Veil and z-conversion, then Blizzard with both. You'll win 8/10 games like this. If something can OHKO you, either switch to the other two which resist Steel/Poison/Fighting or instead of z-converting use the Adaptability boosted STAB tri-attack. With A-Ninetales you can also OHKO some pokes with it's attacks instead of starting right off with aurora veil.

According to serebii, Mallow's possible Tsareenas in the tree either have Vest or Scarf, no sashes.

>252 SpA Greninja-Ash Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tsareena: 118-140 (80.2 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

It wasn't sashed, it was scarfed.

>>31252158

You low rolled.

I'm having trouble with the battle tree doubles between battles 40 and 50. I'm running muk, mega metagross, gyarados, and marowak. I think I need a special sweeper is tapu lele better for sheer power or tapu fini for bulk and protecting my team from status effects (which I'm noticing my team is vulnerable to)?
>>

>>31252294
Nah on megagross I'm using meteor mash, zen headbutt, EQ, and hammer arm. Though if I went with Lele honestly I might drop hammer arm for protect since zen headbutt would probably out damage it in psychic terrain anyways. And Muk can deal with dark types pretty easily with brick break anyways.

(I'm definitely dropping alolawak either way, he's mostly for specific threats and abusing the ai with switches)
