Gonna say it now, Gen 7 had a different approach to typing. Everything was less literal- Decidueye being ghost, Lurantis being pure grass, there's decisions that just wouldn't have been made in earlier generations. For a lot of these I wouldn't say "pokemon logic is weird" so much as "pokemon logic has shifted"

Lurantis is actually more literal as a pure grass type because it's a plant mimicking a bug, not an actual bug. If it was Bug/Grass that would be less literal because it just looks like a bug.
