Comparing regional shitbird, regional shitrat, regional shitbug regional pseudo, and fossils is fucking dumb. Almost every generation has a set of each. It doesn't convey at all how Gen 5 repurposed Gen 1 concepts because those are not unique to Gen 5.

Mew as well. Every generation has a cute spritely little mythical Pokemon. At least both Mewtwo and Genesect are engineered in some way, but it only draws further differences with mew and victini because Genesect is not a clone of Victini, or related to it in any way.

Gengar/Chandelure, and Gothitelle/Alakazam are also shakey at best. The only similarity is typing and number of evolutionary stages, whereas the similarities between Paras/Dwebble, Voltorb/Foongus, Poliwag/that thing, the Hitmons and Sawk and Throh, and Zubat/Swoobat are on a conceptual and thematic level rather than just typing.
