Game Freak has added expanded upon Natures: They now do one more thing other than just change stats (including the neutral ones).
It's your job to assign extra effects to them (for example, Brave would be immune to flinching and Careful would increase accuracy if the user moved after the target; yes I know both effects are copied from Inner Focus or Zoom Lens but these are just example).pic unrelated, I had to pick something.

but natures ALREADY did something other than modify stats
how embarrassing for you, op
It'd feel more balanced or likely for them to just do something with the neutral natures rather than all of them, so people stop complaining about them being "useless".

Contest stats and confusion Berries do not count. That Battle Facility where Pokemon choose their moves based on their Nature can go fuck itself.

Gentle doubles the chances of secondary effects being activated on moves, this stacks with abilities too.
Lax prevents the opponent from switching out unless they're a normal type.
Now pokemon have an actual reason to run these natures
I thought we already had abilities
This would only make catching a Pokemon with the right nature more tedious. Natures were a mistake.

>what is breeding
>what are everstones
>>31212140
>serene grace gentle
>air slash now always flinches
Brave now works like sheer force when at full health
Jolly works like Unaware, but only defensively (we can assume unaware will soon enough stop working defensively anyways)
Modest works like technician, but only with a 30% bonus
Timid increases accuracy by 50%, but lowers the base power of all moves above 100 to exactly 100.
Adamant works like berserk but for attack.
Naive increases both offenses by 10% when at full health, and reduces them by 10% otherwise

just get faster pokemon, paralysis was nerfed this gen
>>31212215
>50% accuracy
>no more focus miss or dynamic miss
>>31212064
They're doing this with Types already, and I think they could expand on that. Grass can't be seeded, Thunder can't be paralyzed, Fire can't be burned, Dark can't be Pranked, Ghost can't be trapped, etc. How about Fighting can't be flinched? Ice doubles the Freezing chance of moves?
The only thing I would like would be a similar thing to Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories and the Guardian Stars. Natures would have "advantages" over others, as in you guarantee higher damage rolls. A Serious Pokemon will do more damage to a Timid Pokemon, etc.

>>31212064
To add to both ideas, however, it might be cool to give only the neutral natures a gimmick, to make them viable or wanted. Those would be:
Hardy
Docile
Serious
Bashful
Quirky
I could see Hardy Pokemon preventing critical hits or not having their DEF stats lowered (like they could use Close Combat and not get the drop).
Docile Pokemon could prevent Taunting.
Serious Pokemon could not be infatuated or confused.
Bashful Pokemon...? Quirky Pokemon?
>>31214866
Hardy: Half a Focus Sash/Sturdy effect - if the Poke's stronger defense is attacked and dropped from 100 to 0, it retains one health and survives.
Docile: Immunity to Taunt, Torment, Swagger, and Swagger's "special" cousin that boosts Special Attack to confuse.
Serious: 20% damage reduction to Fairy-Type moves, both used and incoming.
Bashful: Speed improves by one stage when either giving or receiving Attract, Charm, Baby-Doll Eyes, Sweet Kiss, Draining Kiss, or Lovely Kiss.
Quirky: 20% chance at beginning of each turn to ignore their own changes to stats until next turn (for good or ill.)
