It's probably only counting retail DVD sales. Pokemon is still something moms will buy for their kids to shut them up for an hour.

For some reason Brits love going after demonic beings in Egypt, with said beings having the power to send other power beings.

I guess BD. Not much competition from other anime as it is rarely released internationally(<20k with 50k+ outliers sales prices are outrageous though) most money comes from selling the source material or buyfag shit. Ie love live is a top 10 selling artist(not album) or some bullshit in 2016.

>Anime
>Pokémon
Pokémon is literally the last thing from Japan I consider to be "anime."

The technicality of it still being an "anime" which has the functional popularity and marketing of a normie western children's cartoon.

>i-it's not an anime because I say so
Pathetic
As recently as DP/BW, the dub was still one of the top ten selling anime in North America. I wouldn't be surprised if it still continued being the case even after all of these years.
