But, they didn't. Prism not only got released, apparently they're still working on patches for it. This is AM2R all over again. It was publicly worked on for year, but Nintendo only lowers the hammer once it's basically pointless to do so.

It's clear that your supposed scenario where the C&D isn't real requires a LOT more assumptions, and required the dev to do a lot more work for questionable, if any, gain.

That doesn't mean it MUST be false. You could be right, maybe it was all an elaborate ruse to drum up press. But if we use Occam's Razor as a guide, then from a probabilistic perspective, it's probably not true and he most likely really did get C&D'd.

In fact, because he had nothing to gain from the whole C&D debacle (since removing his name and branding the project illegal basically makes it impossible for him to reference it later, or get donations for it), I'd say it's extremely unlikely he made it all up. I'd like to see if you have any evidence in favor of the C&D being fake, besides a typo which could have been made by anyone, if it exists.
