They have been around the longest.
Notice how Gen 2's and 3's lists are really short, Gen 4's isn't too long and Gen 5 and 6 are long as hell. It's only relative to how long the pokemon have been around really.

To be fair, that's only because of Gen 2's dex having every Gen 1 mon.

I understand that, but let's not pretend that Gen 1 flood isn't an issue in recent games.

As a counter point, only 3 gens were available in RSE and gen 1 mons made up about 20% of the dex. With 7 gens available, 30% of SM's dex is Kanto.

My only hope is that the 90's nostalgia shit seems to have hit its peak and it's only going to go down from here.

Also all these are kind of biased. Venonet was only in gen 2's dex which had all of gen 1, and some pokemon were only available in post game of certain games, like slugma, or houndoor, as well as some pokemon being available in a region but only after national dex
