Hugh does evolve, though his growth is less understated. He has this idea that everyone in Plasma is bad, and won't accept that there are members who want to atone and be good people. He has a black and white view, not really willing to accept the shades of gray with Team Plasma.

How's the post-game less challenging? The BW2 post-game has the Black Tower/White Treehollow and N battles.

Plus Challenge Mode was poorly-implemented, but it made for a much better difficulty than most Pokemon games.

Nothing wrong with 3d, but the lack of quality with it is rather jarring. Not only is the style to begin with rather poor, but everything from gen 1 has completely washed out colors so they look awful. That's without mentioning how the animations for each pokemon are mostly boring and uninteresting when almost 2 decades ago Stadium had unique and interesting animations for most mons on intro, death, etc.. Even if they weren't all the best, I'd take them any day over the lifeless crap we got in X and Y that persisted to Sun and Moon.

It's when gym leaders started having three Pokémon max, and when the Elite Four only had 4 Pokémon compared to previous generations' 5 or 6. The postgame also consisted of only yet ANOTHER battle tower clone, some empty towns, and a boring Looker sidequest.

tl;dr: all the cancer of Gens 6 and 7 originated in Gen 5, end of story.
