Been trying to hack and old 3Ds. Why?

Yes, though you can also do that with a Powersave. The only real difference is that you can screw up with a hack way easier than you can with a powersave and the hack mistakes are way worse than the ones a persave can do.

They might have a lot of money to make pokemon games but they still have to manage time and resources. That's like saying humans are incomplete because we have vestigial organs we don't need. You can make those animations sound as complicated and time intensive as you want but they probably had one dude do them in a couple of days. That might have even been really early in development and they just dropped the idea. Just because you assume they didn't use the animations because they didn't have time doesn't make it so.
