Add trading
Make a actual tracker which locates the Pokemon
Make more pokemon spawn in rural areas and not just in cities
Add breeding in Pokemon centers.

No real battle system, No real team building, Gym power creep leading to nothing more than a Mono Dragonite gym end game, Genwun mons only.

All of these things guaranteed the eventual boring repetition of this """"game"""" quickly. It sustained itself on Nostalgia alone.

Shitty servers and poor response time sure didn't help.

Maybe they can unfuck themselves this summer if the crowd who wants to remember the fun they had a year ago shows up and revs up their GO one last time...Though that's a really big if.

Add all gens for start.

Allow wild battles and training of individual Pokemon. No more of this having to catch 50 Charmanders to get a Charizard. Wild encounters remain relevant for training, and you can still boost with stardust and candy from catching Pokémon.

Add trainer battles, trading, and a friend system. Add an evil team for extra shenanigans. Add breeding.

Add some sort of move tutor, even if it costs money.

Even if they rolled out each of those features one at a time, I think that'd be a great improvement.
