Z-Moves no longer require items, just max Friendship and Affection. Instead of designating a Z-Move and Crystal before battle, you can wing it and decide which mon will use it's move and when

Also Z-moves bypass immunities now. If a Z-move is used on a pokemon that would be immune to it, it now does 25% damage

Introduce hybrid type moves. If your mon has one of the types it gets a 50% STAB, if it matches both it gets 100% STAB. If a mon is weak to one type and resistant to another type it counts as type neutral . (or if 4x weak to one type and 1/2 resistant to the other, it counts as 2x weak, etc). For example:

Steam (Fire/Water)
Evil (Ghost/Dark)
Slush (Ice/Water)
Mud (Ground/Water)
Magma (Rock/Fire)
Plasma (Fire/Electric)

And so on. Many moves are retroactively changed as appropriate.

And if you REALLY want to break the meta, add a reverse taunt. Can't use attack moves, only status moves.

That said, we really need that Primal Regigigas, get rid of Slow Start, because lots of Legendary Pokemon have the stats but not the ability.
