This is why I said it's gonna be shit. I played instruments for a decade before picking up ableton, and even still I made shit. It's not because I can't write a melody or anything, it's because when you're using a program there is SO MUCH you can do and you will not know how to do 10% of it without spending all your time working on it, which takes even longer if you have a job. You may hear the song in your head, but getting that into the workflow is gonna take lots of learning and money. From a technical aspect, the mastering on your first track (unless you pay a specialist, but don't bother until you're getting serious) is gonna suck. But you'll do a bit better on your second, and a bit better on the third. Just keep working on it. It helps me to set hard deadlines of how often I have to release something so that I don't keep trying to perfect it.
