My main problem with the Duskull line is that it doesn't seem they completely fit with each other. However, at the same time, they have too many common elements to work separately.
Don't get me wrong, I love each one of them. It's just that I feel they could have done better.

I'll have to kinda give you that one. I like dusclops but would prefer if it looked like left in pic related (the edit is a bit crappy tho, I didn't have a pic of dusclops with better resolution)

The white around its eye really bothers me, considering both duskull and dusknoir have the floating red orb thing going on.

I think the issue people have with the type is that they played safe and modern with the design aesthetic when the type was introduced instead of introducing mostly folklore-influenced ones. Which is why its currently seen as "wasted potential the type" and designs like the Tapus are viewed as damage control than just the design norm.
