Quick Ball's x5 capture rate only applies to the first turn of the battle - after that it becomes x1 (same rate as a Poke Ball). Why neutral nature though?

It does increase the spawn rates of the good stuff! It changes the stuff you want from 1% to 20%, and Magikarp from 60% to 40%, isn't that so much better?
Of course, that's still only a 20%, and a fuckton of magikarp, and a fuckton of resetting/leaving and reentering to get bubbles again...
And of course SOMEONE is going to respond with how they got Insert Rare Thing Here on their first/second go, it didn't take them 30 attempts to get something other than Magikarp/Second Most Common Thing, therefore it's Perfectly Fine.

Why is pichu so wanted? It was like the third pokemon I got in my playthrough and surely you can just breed a pikachu/Raichu for it?

Also, managed to get a level 46Machamp on wonder trade for a level 16 jigglypuff on gts from some Japanese girl but it didn't have No Guard. I have a Machoke with No Guard but can't evolve him without a trade

FUCK OFF. they need a minigame to help increase your chances, similar to the active reload in Gears of War 4, if you goof up, then you have a worse chance at capture. Some sort of tapping or drawing on the touch screen IDK. Once you get the mon down to 1 HP (which is mind-numbingly easy) and status them, it's just a matter of spamming pokeballs until they're caught. its just so boring because there's no way to improve.

i wasted like 46 mins tonight on Tapu Koko. after 3 SRs (2 catches of the wrong nature, 1 Struggle to death), I got the right nature, but it still doesn't have a 31 in Speed. what a crock of shit

Yes you can. It's a rare SOS call in the rain in Malie Gardens at night. Protip: if it's raining on the overworld, the rain will be infinite in battle. Makes chaining for Politoed much easier.
