But that's just an assumption. If we go by what actually happened then she straight up doesn't do shit to help you. She even got to Cyrus first in the Distortion World and apparently just decides to wait for the MC to turn up instead of kicking his ass then and there. Even Steven at least fights alongside you against Team Magma in Emerald, Cynthia is just fucking lazy.

Her Platinum and Unova teams are among the only full NPC teams without any type overlap (only other one off the top of my head is Red in GSC). Although her DP team is probably tougher than Platinum.
