Pros

Fun as fuck
Love the music
I like most of the new pokemon

Cons
Plaza is kinda shit
Customization is good but still lacking

Honestly SM is my new favorite of the main series games.

Pros
- Best story of a pokemon game
- Best Climactic sequence starting from Po town to Elite 4
- Good music
- Last 2 islands were great

Cons
- Bunch of random features that break immersion (Pokemon storage island things, Festival plaza, picture thing)
- Blew its load on climax sequence with a nonexistent post game.
- Post game feels so empty/lonely
- First island and first half of second were boring.
- Bae uses a pokedoll as an escape item

Pros:
-story is the best in the series
-islands are a nice change of pace compared to every previous gen
-Totem Pokémon boss battles
-not babby shit-tier easy like XY
-small but comfy quality-of-life changes
-3D graphics that aren't chibis
-the music
-Poké Pelago letting me hatch large numbers of eggs simultaneously and in real time without actually playing
-more clothing options than XY

Cons:
-tutorial keeps getting longer with each gen
-difficulty is uneven, but still on the easy side
-could be even more clothing options
-evolution moves fucking stuff up
-Alola pokes have low encounter rates because GF hates us
-Festival Plaza grind
-no more Super Training
-Ride Pokémon music killing the mood

Last gen didn't leave me very hyped for these games, so maybe my expectations were low? XY's difficulty was a fucking cakewalk and the villainous team was almost completely forgettable.

But I was genuinely surprised that SM's story was actually good for once. I didn't think a fucking Pokémon game would have such a personal story.

SM isn't perfect, but I haven't enjoyed a Pokémon game this much since HGSS.

Pros:
>Changing the traditional style of 8 gyms to 7 trials and 4 kahunas turned out better than I thought.
>new pokemon weren't all shit
>alolan pokemon weren't the dumbest thing ever
>we have both a friendly rival, and a rival whose isn't exactly your friend, but similar to Silver from Gen 2.
>story was good, for a pokemon game.
>HMs got the axe
Cons:
>first island is boring
>Most of the new pokemon are slow as shit
>You don't get a chance to save before Tapu Koko in the ending
>Lillie leaves so suddenly it feels like it was a last minute decision to make you feel sad during the ending.
>post game is lacking in some spots
>some pokemon evolve way to late to be useful in the main game (charjabug and crabrawler)
>While it's not as bad as in gen 6, Pokemon Sun and Moon are still really easy games.
>Mega Stones weren't shitcanned entirely.

It's a good pokemon game, but It's probably not my favorite generation of Pokemon.

Pros:
>Nostalgic.
The past two generations I tried to avoid leaks and such and go in mostly blind. XY felt eh, but SM made me feel like a kid again.
>Story and Characters.
So many of the characters I actually liked this go around. And many of the Captains and Kahunas were memorable.
>Totem Concept
Maybe not amazingly implemented (was still pretty easy) but I liked the idea of the bosses having an initial boost and it being a 1 vs more battle. Would love to see Totem hoards as a boss battle.

Great boost with things like the treasure hunt, berry planting, and EV training.

I really missed it in ORAS.

No more HM slaves is nice.

God damn seeing your character smile like a soulless doof every cutscene is annoying. The theory that his first language is Japanese and he's barely understanding what's going on in English only makes the cutscenes funny, but no less immersion breaking.
>Engine being shit
Maybe it's because I'm on an old 3DS but god. Waiting 3-5 seconds after each Pokemon battle for it to reload the overworld, the massive FPS drops in battles with more than two Pokemon or when there's a Totem Aura, and the HP bar being fucked when they have low HP is disgusting. Not being able to stay connected to the internet either, so constantly having to go through the long process of connecting, game synch checking, more checking, if I just wanna check the GTS for two seconds.

Really big letdown. No overworld sprites? No real plot? Nope just Buzzwole chilling with some Cutiflies. I feel like I'm literally doing an MMORPG fetch-quest. "Go catch 2 Buzzwole and come back!"

As other anon said, some of them just make me bleed from the mouth.

Overall though, I'm happy. I've been burnt out on Pokemon for 10 years, SM is a welcome refresh.

Pros

-Best story in the main games so far.
-no hms and their replacement is far better
-Music is great. I havent wanted to mute a pokemon game since bw2.
-Trials are, for the most part, better than gyms.
-Pelago is good, although I really miss super training for precise immediate ev changes.
-Alola forms are cool. Wish there were more of them.
-Islands 2 and 3 are awsome. Theres a ton of variety and they are massive.

Cons

-Most of the new pokemon are slow shitmons, and the ones that arent are so good they powercreep half of "OU".
-Worst tutorial in the series by far.
-Festival plaza sucks. Gen 6's bottom screen online functions were far better.
-Dexnav and hoards were replaces by SOS chaining and it is trash in comparison.
-Variety of mons is worse than xy
-Difficulty is really weird. The middle of the game is piss easy but by the end there is a huge level increase and everyone has ev trained teams with max ivs.
-Island 1 sucks and Island 4 doesnt have a lot of stuff to do until you beat the game.

Pros:

- Best Story and characther (really mature and not boring,)
- Best Music (Champion music for example is lit)
- Awesome Pokèmon design
- PokèPelago is such a good thing
- No HMS anymore so this mean no more flying/water mon in Every squad
- New Battle menu is such an awesome thing
- Acceptable difficulty
- RotomDex is cool
- Battle Royale is the funniest water ti Battle with friends
- Ultra Beasts are cool
- Best Legendary suo
- Battle Free is much harden than Battle Maison with old characther like Cynthia returns
- Good Regione
- Battle Style are cool (not so many)
- Nursey is much better
- (2017) Private Match
- (2017) QR Code Team
- Two Teams (Aether/Skull)
- "King of the Routes" that have access to Z-Moves
- PokèRefresh is much better and usefull
- Going to Sun/Moon dimension is a good idea
- Getting the Oval and Shiny Charm is much easier now
- Alolan mon are awesome
Cons

-No 3D
-Lag in double Battle/totem/Battle Royale
-Zyagarde Core and Cells is a bada idea
- Trials not difficult enough
- No National Dex in main game
- Some Ultrabeast not in main story
- Some Totem Battle aren't difficult enough
- Not many Island Scan non
- Zygarde and the other Tapus not involved in main story
- Not so many customization (still better than XY)
- Triple and Horde battle got cucked (but for obvious reason)
- New mon are hard to fine
- PokèSnap is annoying
- Not all Megastones are available
- SOS Battle interfer during cathes
- Festival Plaza Deep like a downgrade of PSS
- Many trainers have only 1 Pokèmon)
- Hyper Training needs level 100 and Bottle Cap are likely hard to fine. IVs not passable
- No good spot to level up
- No MoveTutor like in ORAS
- Custscenes might be annoying
- The "biggest" city isn't big and the others (Like Luminose City, Mauville City etc...)

These are the pro/cons that comes up in my mind
They are one of the best Pokèmon games, i Hope they get a 3rd title in Switch
