Bakugan died because of power creep and having to buy new toys everytime stuff got stronger. It got so bad that the first couple bakugan couldn't beat the lowest power new ones even with the best cards.

And because of that and parents not wanting to buy their kids a new one every month or so to even stay stable in power, the franchise lost worth snd crashed.
