If Gardevoir was still mono Psychic I might've agreed with you. The Fairy typing improved it in every aspect. Even design.

Vaporeon is the best Eevee
Vanilla Kyurem is cooler than Black and White Kyurem
Guzzlord is my favorite Ultra Beast
Iris is the best Champion (Team, battle theme, everything, they really knocked it out of the park)

As a Gallade fan I'm pretty saddened that his mega evolution didn't make him that much more viable in competitive, while mega Gardevoir just blasted up to OU almost entirely due to the fairy typing alone.
