Went to go chain hunt for a Snorunt earlier today; this gal decided to just jump out the minute I hit the grass.

Her name is Valentine and her stats are hot garbage but she was a. Ice surprise.

I'm at 409 Bounsweets now and I feel burnt out and faced with a dilemma.
Even if I do get the shiny, using this potentially hacked Six IV shiny Ditto I got from Wonder Trade holding a Destiny Knot would nullify my temporary moment of RNG achievement.

What do you guys think? Should I continue hacking eggs?
Or shoot myself with a coconut gun?

409 is nothing. You're still below odds for an average MM. If this is too much for you, just get off the ride entirely.

That said, using a hacked Ditto is actually fairly commonplace for this sort of thing, and there's nothing to feel guilty about. There are way too many hoops and hurdles to jump through as it is, so there's no point in increasing the amount of hurdles you need to go through by acquiring a legit foreign Pokemon of the same egg-group, as well as hoping it has good enough IVs for breeding purposes.

Remember for the future:
that either masuda method (one or both are different languages (read: foreign)) or the shiny charm is required.
Also note that genderless / mono-gender pokemon fuck it up. It works with the listed Deino- it would not work with porygon (or staryu, or other such genderless things I've seen in examples).

Festival plaza treasure hunt **. If you find someone with treasure hunt** as their fav save them to your VIP and keep tell ing them to introduce you to that facility. You are guaranteed to get a bottle cap the first try. Then replace the facility and tell your VIP to reintroduce it to you. Repeat the process.

The Magikarp swapping exploit means that if you're saving every 30 eggs, at most you'll only need to breed 30 of the pokemon you actually want.

It still takes a fucking sodding long time unless you're lucky, but Magikarp is much faster to burn through eggs than any other Pokemon.

Do you even understand why you'd be doing 30 at a time?
If you do them one at a time, then when do you save? No matter when you choose to save- you'll have eggs leftover, that aren't hatched.
Any time you have an unhatched magikarp egg and you save- you dun fucked up. What if that one was shiny? Too bad on that eevee, you're stuck with a 'karp now...

You worded it as an opinion- so I can't actually say you're wrong- but I Can say that I personally disagree.
Doing 30 at a time, I don't have to remember SHIT. As long as I put the eggs into my party in the same order they were laid (read:put into the box), then I don't even have to think about it or pay attention.
If I hatch the third egg in my fourth party of egg hatching- I know without having to think about it that it's the 18th egg.
It's so much easier, that I don't even have to do or think about anything.
Which, when I'm doing something brainless like hatching 30 fucking 'karp eggs at a time- that's really nice.

I used a timer on myself cause i was curious- and gathering 30 eggs (with a full party, so they all go into the box) and then hatching them all was a full 4 minutes quicker than hatching one at a time.
I don't know what I'd be doing wrong- as I did the one at a time method exactly how you explained.

I just thought it was reasonable to assume that there's no reason to separate the process of collecting eggs from the breeder and hatching them when they could be done at the same time. And I don't really have a problem keeping track of what egg I'm on either, because just like you, I know that if I'm hatching the 3rd egg in my party and I'm on my 4th egg cycle, then I'm obviously on my 18th egg.

But yeah, for science, I'll have to try that other way as well and see what works best for me.

I have a question regarding swap breeding.

So I just came across a shiny Magikarp. I know it's the 13th egg of this box. Could I create 12 eggs, remove my parent Gyarados, save, and then the next egg, no matter which parent I put in, is guaranteed to be shiny? Also, will this shiny stay queued forever as long as I don't produce another egg? Could I run out and SOS chain a Pokemon right now, then throw that into the daycare and get an instant shiny?

From what I can tell of the inheritance, the shiny's randomized stat will be HP, and it will always be just Decent. So I'm thinking about going out and chaining for a 4V Pokemon that doesn't really care about its HP stat, so that I can throw it in as the parent. Any suggestions?

anyone got any tips for hunting shit that can cause status effects? like spinarak (poison sting) or cutiefly (stun spore) for example. The usual setup I do is a smeargle with flase swipe, recycle, recover, and an attacking move. Should i just replace recover with aromatherapy or refresh? would substitute work? not sure what i would replace for it

For things like Cutiefly that use spores, run Parasect or another Grass type

I use Kartana (Grass/Steel) as my False Swiper since it has immunity to spore statuses and Poison
I typically run False Swipe, Substitute, Double Team or Synthesis and one attacking move

Fucking finally last night. I challeneged myself at 63% dex completion on the 30th to make it all the way before the new year. With the help of a friend visiting for the holidays, I got up to 85%, and was able to catch/gts the rest on my own.

Then I got to work on Grubbins!

This is the first game I've had the charm in. I got so close in White 2, X, and ORuby but lost the will to finish each time. Inly 300 was much easier.

Beat SM, get to the Battle Tree, and talk to the IV judger to acquire the ability to see a spread of your Pokemons' IVs in the PC box. Acquire a Japanese 6 IV Ditto the next time you happen to see a giveaway thread. When you want to start breeding, follow this image. Once you have a 5 IV parent who's only lacking the stat you don't care about on it (e.g. a Machop lacking Special Attack), leave it in the daycare with Ditto and ride Masuda's Wild Rodeo in circles until one day your slightly differently colored blob of pixels comes out.

Honestly tho I might go back to my AS and keep SRing for the legends that i still haven't shiny hunted ( so far I got Zekrom, Kyurem, Cresselia, Latios, Lugia, Dialga, Giratina, Heatran and Regice. Got unlucky with the synchronize tho only my latios/heatran/regice got the natures i wanted.. but still ^^)

Just caught Cresselia because of the impending difficulty of encountering Crescent Isle with the drop in gen 6 players. I managed to get my hands on the eon ticket on that weekend that they were available on both my AS and OR. Tho i have completed my dex in AS i didnt in OR so as much as I love shiny Latias 1/4096 isn't as appealing as 1/1300 but I'll probably get it too ^^

Masuda Method has been around ever since gen 4, and it's certainly the most surefire way to guarantee that your shiny will be usable, but if you want to do something that's relatively quicker, then you'll wanna try SOS chaining.

I have a little guide on that right here, with the only difference from how it's explained in this infograph being that instead of stopping at however many KOs it takes to max your EVs, you just keep going and going and going until the shiny is yours.
