I know, but I ironically appreciate leaders who struggle to find enough Pokemon to match their typings for their level/region. Plus, Steel doesn't lend itself very well to low-level play aesthetically, but I think I did a decent job. It makes sense for an aspiring trainer to struggle with their focus somewhat, so when your partner finally evolves into that type it helps crystallize your path.

Also, if you're wondering why I included a fucking Jirachi instead of just using Metagross; Metagross is so overblown and overplayed that I never want to see it again. It's my stepdad's cousin's mom's nephew's uncle's college roommate's "super cool" powerful Steel type and I've never liked it. Besides, why can't an endgame trainer have a Jirachi who actually plays up some underutilized Steel-type themes?

Well, the issue with this format is that it's beyond weird. They completely skip the eighth gym and Elite Four membership to shoot directly to champion/endgame team. And Jirachi is a Mythical Pokemon, not technically a Legendary; and who else would have a Mythical Pokemon but the only six-slotted opponent in the game?

Thanks! I corrected a couple of things. mainly I thought Excadrill made more sense as an ace given its place in the first gym, and I also forget that Curse on Golurk would generate the status affect rather than the stat modification, so I took it away

I'd argue that your signature pokemon doesn't have to be your mega, for example Calem/Serena had a mega Absol but I'd say their starter is their signature pokemon.

The drawing point to my gym is that it's in the standard "ice city", so you expect an ice gym only to see Bisharps and Doublades everywhere. The gym battle is held in an open area of the castle where hail can come in.

Gym for the Power Badge. We don't stick to a single type, but we love Normal, Fairy, and Fighting types. We go for having good attack and defense, protecting out bodies but neglecting our spirits. Our weakness is powerful special attackers (except in final team where Azu has an Assault Vest, lol)

Depending on the team, Mawile could have Sheer Force or Intimidate. Marill has thick fat in early battles, switches to Huge Power in later battles. Breloom alternates between Effect Spore and Poison Heal. Bunnelby has Pickup, but Diggerby always has huge Power. Bewear is always Fluffy, Persian is always Fur Coat.

What do you think?

So make a mixed gym with more than one type, bro! Why not have a Flying-Fighting-Ice gym? Or a Bulk gym where everything is just bulky like Shuckles and Toixapex and Wailords everywhere? Or a gym full of guys who look like they're one type but aren't, like Dragalge and that Anchor thing that's Grass/Ghost? You could base it around themes instead of types, you know.

Love the Whimsicott! I think Mawile would be more suited for the lower level badges, though, it's not very strong on its own and makes a nice early boss-type monster because of its good defenses, kinda like Brock's Onix. Just my opinion, though. I also like that none of your teams are exact replicas of one another!

The triads are based on whatever starter the played picked. Not sure which way would be best for them.

Also, I was trying to go for a dark type gym leader, who has a fake version of himself in a really dramatic area, and you have to find a secret passage to find the real one after the fact. If you go to him first, he'll even congratulate him on finding something so well hidden without prompting.

Gym Puzzle: You enter to a dimly lit gym. With some mechanisms you can turn on/off and aim red, green and blue lights. As it is a glorified Strength puzzle, you can use Strength to push and pull mirrors to aim those lights to a certain direction.

Switches respond to colors. For example, a yellow switch will only open a path if you aim to it both red and green lights.

About Flash Burn, I was just thinking it like an electric-type version of Scald: A regular electric type with some probability of causing burns.

Since no one really responded to it earlier, and this was the part I really wanted to emphasize, what would you think of the dark type gym leader having someone posing as him (Who uses a zoroark team with relatively weak mons) And you'd have to find the real one somewhere hidden? I mean I think it'd be a nice nod to how dark types work at least.
