There's a certain knack to it that's very different to PvP competitive play.
Having a team that hits hard and fast and doesn't give the opponent an opportunity to pull any setup BS works much better
Lots of players try to use entry hazards and stall and seem confused at why it isn't working.

Tree is filled with gimmick sets and they throw shit at you to see what sticks. Seriously, I had five trick room/explosion pumpkins i a row thrown at my Celesteela lead, while the tree was figuring out what works.

I breezed through Singles and Doubles, multi is JUST tier
iirc my first attempt at singles ended at a 57 streak, my first attempt at doubles ended at 86 or something, multis I can't get past 20

Battle Tree is always down to luck. Last two times I've ran into ice teams with every mon using sheer cold around Battle 20

Pretty much singlehandedly swept 20 + Red's team with a Life Orb Garchomp, haven't picked it up since.
