Just realized that:
1- Mega Evolution is practically a "fourth evolution" in most cases
2- Z-Moves are practically a "fifth move".
What's next GF? A practically "second item"?
How would that works and how it would affect the meta?
>>31072138
How about a third type?
>>31072163
Maybe. They have been testing third types with Flying Press and Dhelmise
Mega Evolution isn't so much "evolution", as it is the Pokemon being pushed beyond its limits.
It has far more in common with Shonen transformations like Super Saiyans. The fact that Pokemon are apparently hurt and/or driven mad by the power furthers the parallel.
>>31072179
Fluffy and Water Bubble as well. Probably some other shit too.

Mega Fug exists you know
>>31072222
Also A-Greninja
>>31072222
And Ash-Greninja (+110 BST)
Both Fug and Greninja can "Mega Evolve" without a Mega Stone (though Greninja has to KO something first)
>>31072179
>>31072210
Tru dat, but i think they will limitate the third type somehow, maybe giving it half stab? I dunno
>>31072228
>>31072239
yeah... but which one displays a better idea of power creep?
>>31072239
>A-Greninja has 10 more BST than regular megas
Jesus Christ.
>>31072278
Mega Fug
Already thoroughly shook up Fagon when he happened and its Delta Stream
You could give fug Steel typing
That negates his weaknesses to Fairy, Dragon, and Rock, while also lowering his weakness of Ice from 4x to 2x.
It only adds neutral damage to fire and increases resistance to Psychic, Grass (1/6x), Flying, Normal, Bug, and Steel.
Literally the only types it wouldnt resist would be Electric, Dark, Poison, and Ghost while giving the ability to destroy the only real threats it actually had (Ice Beam/Crash and Moonblast)
>>31072138
One held item, one consumable item.
>>31072138
>how it would affect the meta?
More dumb powercreep and OHKOs.
>>31072179
>Flying Press
But it's both of Hawlucha's types. How is this a third type?
practically a seventh mon
>>31072138
>Z-Moves are practically a fifth move
No, Z-Moves are in fact Gems that you can use on command instead of automatically.
>Gem boosts a single move's power by 50% (or 30% for later gens)
>Z-Move multiplies a move's BP by 1.8
In the case of status moves it's basically losing an additional move. Not like anyone's going to use Splash after using the Z-Power. This is why Gems were more or less thrown out in this generation.

>In the case of status moves it's basically losing an additional move. Not like anyone's going to use Splash after using the Z-Power. This is why Gems were more or less thrown out in this generation.
Unless of course you try something like Z-Bellydrum or Conversion.
>>31072163
I remember I posted a thread with the idea of elemental Armors that would give pokemon extra types. The only Extremely broken one I remember thinking about with this idea was steel type, because if you give a pokemon Steel typing, it instantly becomes much better of a tank. The only other reason to use anything else would be for STAB and specific type combos.
>>31072509
And if the idea WAS on Gamefreak's hands, they'd probably restrict Mega Fug form it, for this reason.
>>31072809
>more or less thrown out in this generation
They were thrown out last generation.
>>31072809
>Z-Moves are in fact Gems
that doesn't carries the move's original attributes, such as Earthquake's spread damage or Draco Meteor's special drop.
So yeah, it's basically a 5th move.
>>31072805
Could definitely see some mechanic that summons a 7th Pokemon temporarily or something
>Gee minimize Muk, how come your trainer lets you have TWO bright powders?
>>31072163
Assuming the type of your Hidden Power became your third type, what benefits most from this?reminder you can't use normal or fairy
>>31072138
zen mode clones are game freaks answer to cuck ability-slots for bad gimmicks
while on the other hand fucking UBs exist and beast boost makes them threatening af and other mons got speed boost n shit that is actually beneficial tho
minior might be an exception since it is actually immune to status as long as its meteorite is not broken
>>31072210
It's crazy how Water Bubble got like 3 effects in one and then there's shit like Defeatist out there
>>31072163
>Dragon/Flying/Ground type Pokemon
>Forest's Curse'd by Trevenant
>Ice Beam
Yfw

It's a bit different since z-damaging moves are essentially featureless damage, unlike gems which carry the move's original effects. They don't get priority, can't drop stats, can't inflict status, etc.
>>31074338
delete this.
Breeding would be so fucking trivial.
>>31072163
It's gonna be this, much easier to market than "wow now they can hold two items"
>>31072196
>Mega Evolution isn't so much "evolution", as it is the Pokemon being pushed beyond its limits.
Anon, mechanically speaking, megas are basically an evolution
New design, higher BST, sometimes different type
When you describe it as them being "pushed beyond their limits" it sounds like some anime BS that's only there to make the mechanic seem cooler and more badass than it actually is.
>>31072284
>>31072239
I knew it was strong but i never noticed they went and gave it 110, come on now gamefreak thats just uncalled for
>>31072138
There'll probably just be a gimmicky single-stage Pokemon with an ability that lets it hold two items
