Why does water resist steel? Give me an actual reason besides "water is masuda's favoirte type" or the fish gets it.

water is masuda's favoirte type
>>

Fuck steel
>>

What can steel do to water? It can't absorb it like grass, it can't electrify it... you put steel in water and it just sinks.
>>
Water rusts Steel. It would've made more sense as a defensive weakness, but making it weak to the most common Special type would've ruined its whole shtick as the ultimate defensive type.

What the fuck is the context for pictures like this? Why do they deliberately take these pictures?
>>
>>31069225
Pretty sure if your job was a stock photographer you'd come up with random shit like this to stay in business too.
>>
>>31069134
This is how I remember it, especially since electric and water were the only types that did neutral damage to steel until gen 6.
>>
Why does Water resist Ice?

In what other games does Water resist Ice?
>>
>>31071082
Because Ice is basically a Water subtype.

oh shit

Because Steel was designed to be a great defensive type, and a shitty offensive one.

Then in Generation VI, they made it better offensively (hitting the new Fairy-type super effectively), and made it less OP defensively.
>>
well... I guess the special steel moves are often light based and water refracts light??? fuck man i dont know
>>
lmao nigga throw a wrench into a lake and see what happens
>>
Remember the Titanic?

Ocean tanked that son of a bitch and didn't even flinch.
>>
Something something blade cannot cut liquid something something. Never mind that most water types are aquatic animals rather than literally made of water.
