soft reset for some of the legendaries (Tapu koko, lele, Nihilego, etc), and use them to climb the battle tree at first for points. The 20 battle set should award you 48 points total for winning, enough to get started on power bracers, or the destiny knot.

EV train a kartana in ATK and SPEED, this takes ages because you havent got the ev items yet, but its the only way. Use kartana to destroy the battle tree and get the bp needed for the power items so you can train the pokemon you actually want.
