The 72 Pokémon were actually good and had memorable designs.

The game followed the basic Pokémon concept.

Battles were pretty fast.

Gyms had cool designs.

Character customization.

Dialogue was good (not the best) and understanding.

An actual 3D-Pokémon core series game.

Only downside I have with XY is the lack of a real post game. I considered battling online as the post game since it was the only fun thing to do.

>This isn't one thing about the gMe but I just wanted to express how I felt about the games.

I actually liked the fact that you could get a lot of pokes in XY, though some distributions could've been better
Some good designs
Super Training

Making breeding really easy

I'm slightly torn on the Hidden Power thing. On one hand, it's a lot easier to get a good one, on the other hand 60BP is pretty shit. At least Roserade digs it.

- PokeFrance was a neat and comfy region. Lumiose City remains my favourite city.

- Gen 6 Pokemon are overall pretty cool. Favourites include all the three starter lines, Aegislash, Tyrantrum, Talonflame, Trevenant, Goodra, etc.

- Mega Evolution, making my boi Charizard relevant in the competitive scene but also giving buffs to other Pokemon such as Pinsir, Ampharos and Absol.

- Inclusion of the Fairy-type, making Steel-types even further relevant despite the minor nerf (would have made Aegislash completely busted if the steel nerf didn't happen)

- Character Customization, providing caps and jackets which are either absent or fucking ugly in Pokemon Sun/Moon's case. You could actually dress up similar as Red, which is a personal plus.

- Great variety in available Pokemon. Inb4 Genwunner, but it was cool to be provided not just a Kalos starter but also a Kanto starter. Not only that but the game also provided other cool Pokemon such as Bisharp, Scizor, Tyranitar, Garchomp, Aerodactyl, Steelix, Crobat, Salamence, Krookodile, Houndoom, Flygon and Rotom. Chances are that X/Y was the closest that enabled you to form your personal dream team.

- EXP Share upgrade making grinding less tedious and more fun

- Super Training and Pokemon Amie

- PSS

- Wonder Trade

- Friend Safari, especially if you have a lot of friends on your 3DS

- It retained Triple Battles, unlike Pokemon Sun/Moon

- Several endgame grinding spots, especially the Lumiose restaurants

- Battle Maison is more streamlined than the Battle Tower. Battle Maison cuts the animation fluff of going up the tower and battling people, and just has you confront your opponent almost immediately.

- Even though Cyrus already tried to fuck up the world back in Gen 4, Gen 6 with Lysandre's scheme somehow made me bother with the sense of urgency. It helps that Lysandre's battle theme is GOAT.

- Overall second to third favourite OST, only rivaled by GSC/HGSS and RBY's though nostaliga is clouding it.
>>
Had some great designs. Barbaracle, Tyrantrum, Hawlucha, Honedge, and Zygarde to name a few.
>>
>>31055944
The phox family.
>>
>>31057842
No, SM are worse than the Gen 6 games in just about every way.
>>
>>31057862
At least SM has the Battle Tree and PokeRides, making HMs a thing of the past.
>>
>>31057842
Only really in story.
Without Super Training there's no fine tuning stats or easy EV resetting.
Without Hordes there's no fast EV training method.
In SM there's also no quick way to get up to level 100 so you can access hyper training.
There's no breeding loop so you have to actively pay attention.

>>31057872
The Battle Tree is the Maison with legacy trainers anon. There's no difference.
>>
>>31057872
The Battle Tree has less content than the Battle Maison.
Pokerides is one of the only good things about SM and they still manage to fuck it up by not letting you ride your own Pokémon and making your character change into NERF armor.
>>
>>31057903
Maison with legacy trainers and megas.

>>
>>31058028
Don't excuse GF's laziness. That's how we got Gen 7, the worst yet.
>>
>>31057903
> Without Super Training there's no fine tuning stats

While Poke Pelago is extremely tedious to set up, once you finished the place you can passively raise the EVs of your mons. At level 3, you get 4 EVs per session so it's a matter of dividing the amount of EVs you need for a specific stat by 4 and there's the amount of session it needs to train.
The only downside is that you have to wait at best 15 hours or so if you go for 252 EVs. It does beat Super Training when you apply EV training to your Pokemon en masse.

> or easy EV resetting.

True, but you can farm the EV-reducing berries easily with the berry field at Pelago. It's gonna take time, sure, but it's easily accessible compared to in XY's case.

> Without Hordes there's no fast EV training method.

While I miss hordes as well, I've been told one could easily get max EVs after fighting 7 or so mons in a SOS chain. Not sure if that's the case.

> In SM there's also no quick way to get up to level 100 so you can access hyper training.

The amount of grinding spots is limited to Morimoto, the E4, Poni Wilds and that shitty restaurant at Melemele Island of which trainers only carry one mon. At least XY's restaurants provided a great money and EXP farm via Triple Battles.

> There's no breeding loop so you have to actively pay attention.

Breeding loop?
>>
>>31057975
I think he meant how the base speed of a good amount of new pokes is pretty shit.
Though you are right as well.

>>31058051
Yeah, it's really weird.
Went back to XYORAS for the events and the PC is just so much smoother.
>>
>>31057903
>There's no breeding loop so you have to actively pay attention.

>he doesn't know about the autism box
>>
>>31058062
In Gen 6 the breeding loop required you to press only a single button. In Gen 7 you need to hold the circle pad and run button and pay attention as you ride in the autism box otherwise your movement will stop.
>>
>>31058062
>I've been told one could easily get max EVs after fighting 7 or so mons in a SOS chain. Not sure if that's the case.
Correct, assuming you run the Power items. Those give +8 EVs now, and every poke after the first in a chain gives double EVs, so that's at least 18 per poke.

>Breeding loop?
In XY you could just go back and forth in front of the daycare, simply hold left/right on the D-pad, no attention needed. Alternatively, fly to Lumiose and hold a direction while biking around the Tower. Don't even need to switch directions.
In ORAS there is a perfect loop at the Battle Resort. Stand in the corner, hold up and you will automatically move and take corners.

>>31058081
You need to hold B, so both your hands are occupied.
>>
A shittone of my favorite designs are from gen 6.
Gen 6 probably has the most good design compared to all pokemon from said gen ratio.
>>
I miss the customization. I was really fond of the lace up boots, especially.

I also loved the first gym leader, she was a QT.
>>
>>31055944
The new Pokemon were better than most of Alola's
>>
Hordes

Rest in Piece
>>
>>31058062
As you said with the pelago there's a huge timesink issue. In that time it would be much more easier to fine tune mon using hordes and super training.

>True, but you can farm the EV-reducing berries easily with the berry field at Pelago. It's gonna take time, sure, but it's easily accessible compared to in XY's case.
I was referring to reset bags also Berry trees in XY/ORAS tended to have bigger yields especially when mulch was used.

>I've been told one could easily get max EVs after fighting 7 or so mons in a SOS chain. Not sure if that's the case.
Oh it's true, the problem being that SOS chains are never consistent. One turn you can get a mon to appear and the next five, nothing. Get what I mean?
With hordes there was more consistency in causing them because honey and Sweet scent would always cause a horde encounter.
In the case of ORAS there was always a route that gave you a 100% chance of encountering a horde of a specific stat for example I think 115? would give you nothing but Oddish hordes.

Taking pokerus and power items into account for both hordes still comes out on top due to the random factor in SOS battles.

>At least XY's restaurants provided a great money and EXP farm via Triple Battles.
Don't forget those Blissey bases.

>Breeding loop?
In ORAS the resort's camera would rotate once you reach another side of the island meaning that you could just hold up forever and the player would just keep going in a circle endlessly.

>>31058081
You have to hold B and rotate the C-pad. If you're rotating too slow or let go of B then you'll stop.
