Fortunately I found another shiny, but it was after I got the shiny charm and it was just a paras. I remember having much better luck in previous games, like finding 3 shinies in my Soulsilver playthough.

I swear these past two times the realization they were shinies was blink and miss it sort of things. Sucks for the Magikarp because of the shit stats and bad nature, but it also feels cheaper somehow because of how everyone who played HGSS at some point already has the Red Gyarados which I imagine some people will be bringing into the game a few days from now.

Still best X-mas in a long time for me.

Congrats, OP.

I was like that, sorta on a lesser extent. Spent 200 hours completing my dex and getting the charm and no shinies to show for it.

But in just 3 days, my shiny count went from zero to 6: 3 bred and 3 in the wild/s.o.s chain and I can't believe my eyes what was happening.

But getting them in near-quick succession? That's quite a feat though.

That's weird. I just did an island scan and the togekiss I ran into was a shiny. I had soft reset the first one because I didn't like the nature it was. Lucky I did because now I have a shiny!
