i have a few questions about Gen 5 as someone who has never really played through it.
first off: how did you all go about buying this, and why?
for example, did you buy black 1, then black 2? or black 1, then white 2? which way would you recommend?
what are the differences between the first and the sequel?
B1 - > B2 or W1 -> W2, Doesn't matter which pair you buy as long as you do this. Sequel has new towns/areas, pokemon distribution, continued story, better postgame, and you can link it to the first game for extra features.

I did W -> B2. The differences are really pretty negligible. I don't think I missed out on anything by switching versions.
Unovafag here, BW and BW2 are my favorite games. Bought White on day one and then White 2 on day one.
I think they're among the best of the series for sure. BW2 isn't just a third version like Platinum, it's a completely different game and you should play both BW and BW2, in this order.
I guess you could just play BW2 if you really hate the gen 5 pokemons that much, since you're forced to use them in BW, while there are pokemons from older generations in BW2.

Well you missed out on one of the box legendaries.

thanks, i think i'll do that
BW1 are really fucking boring and slow and I don't like a whole lot of the new pokemon
BW2 are pretty good though
White gives you Zekrom and White 2 gives you Reshiram. Vice versa for Black and Black 2.

I went B > W2, the only thing that really bothered me about it was that I fucked up and ended up with the same box legend twice.

Obviously it was a few years ago, but I recall pretty easily getting the opposite legendary in a trade. I'd have been annoyed if I couldn't do that, but it was easy enough.
