Did you guys ever see the Japanese version of Mewtwo Strikes back?

I'm not pulling some "non-dubbed folded-10000 times nippon voice acting instantly makes everything better" here. The English version had the first solid 10 minutes of the movie cut out for being too dark, as it goes over some backstory for Dr. Fuji and Mewtwo.

That 10-15 minute sequence probably has the most depth out of any moment in any pokemon movie I've seen to date- and I've seen almost all of them besides a couple gen 5-6 one. From what I saw the storytelling in the gen 5-6 movies were exceptionally garbage, lesser than the usual mediocre-to-bad storylines we usually get.

I still have PTSD over the fucking Victini and Hoopa movies. Painfully fucking bad.

Victini and Hoopa both have the same flaw, being that the movie stops dead half way through and the climactic battle is too slow paced and lasts too long to be watchable. Hoopa has it worse, but they're both shit.

Ten minutes of good storytelling doesn't make it any less fucking garbage for the next 90.
Watch the Genesect and Volcanion movies. They're infinitely better than the garbage of Gen 1 and 2, and that's saying something since they're still very weak.
Those apparently also have scenes cut in the dubbed airing for time constraints, just as a note. I'm not entirely sure.
