Visually speaking, this new season is objectively inferior to the previous one: characters are less detailed, there's a big issue with the drawing distance (probably caused by the fact that they can't do everything digitally), and one of the things that made XY popular among sakuga fans, dynamic lighting and high quality shading, are almost entirely gone.
