Pokémon Sun & Moon will be the only Gen 7 games.
Gen 8 will start in early 2018 on the Switch, and be the first Generation to ever start with remakes, pic related.
The main titles, Pokemon North & South, will follow in late 2019 with a region based on India & Nepal.

I think the next release wil still be Gen 7, and will be on 3DS. The situation is a lot similar to BW2 back then that came out a whole 2 years after the 3DS release
Anyone who isn't a complete retard realizes they won't kick off a new gen in a new console to boot with a remake, that's just utterly stupid as far as marketing goes.
