Going to Dallas Regionals (Standard) not sure what to play,
I have cards for any meta deck and then some.

Currently playing Vespi/Zebra
Though about Greninja but hate Garb.

Have you been to previous events? Are non player spectators allowed? I'm trying to get into the game and hoping there will be vendors to buy cards and what not.

Anyways, would a M Gardevoir-EX Despair ray deck be worthwhile to build? I keep focusing on that or the M Mewtwo-EX deck

Very little people play those and they're VERY expensive, especially Vintage.

Commander is ok but it's not taken seriously. Modern is great because you can have fun AND compete if you want.

Hi. I am new to the whole thing, mostly learning before I commit. The way merchandise is organised confuses me a bit. Could you sum up what is in each type of product? e.g trainer kits, tins, miniature sets etc.

Just started playing. After pulling my first booster I was hit by a flash of inspiration for a meme deck I plan on calling "Monkeyshines"

However in order for it to work I need to know how many dupes of each pokemon are allowed in each deck. I plan on making the deck revolve around Aipom into Ambipom shenannigans with Fiddle/Furry chance setups.

Only been to San Jose regionals this past weekend.

Entry into the venue was free. Spectators were allowed, however not allowed to stand between the tables. Vendors were available and apparently very good with prices.

How does rotation work in pokemon? When Sun and Moon comes out in Feb will the XY sets rotate out our will they mix them?

We might get SM on with the rotation near the end of 2017 though. But who knows.

How do I get cards that aren't trade locked on the online TCG? I just pulled a mega ray from a roaring skies pack and wanted to trade it away, but it's locked.

Trainer kits have 2 half decks, premade, for the purpose of learning the game. The Pikachu Libre/Suicune kit is like $12-13 and has an exclusive Pikachu Libre card, so I'd say grab that if you don't want to spend a lot.

I would honestly suggest getting the Keldeo/Rayquaza Battle Deck if/when you really want to learn some more advanced stuff, as it's 2 full 60-card decks and those in particular have a ton of super useful cards in them.

Elite trainer boxes have everything you need if you're starting out. They come with dice, energy cards, poison/burn markers, damage markers (but you're better off using dice for that), a paper playmat, and 8 boosters of whichever set that box is from.

Tins have 4 booster packs plus the EX card you see in the front.

There's more random ways they sell cards but the rest you can see what's in the box. Hope that helps.
