ITT: Pokemon you assumed were going to be shitmons but ended up being good.
Pic related.
When it was revealed not to evolve, I assumed it would be irredeemable trash. Surprisingly its usable and movepool blew me way.
Slap an Evolite on this bad boy and rack up Power Punches with Iron Fist.
Fuck the evolution though.
It sure was an amazing day when we all found out about the secret 3rd effect of its ability. Immediately made up for its bad offenses.

Other than being a spinner immune to status what else can he do?
>>30982961
Wish support, that's it
So I go for a Jolly Mimikyu, right?
And if I want to be super autismo I don't want 6 IV Mimikyu I want 5 IV Mimikyu with a "No Good" Special Attack, right?
>>30983048
>No good special attack
For what reasoning? For non-physical attacks you want 0IV attack to minimize foul play damage, but there's no harm in having any SpA IV on a non-special attacker
>>30983088
So is perfect SpA is still something to aim for, even if both Natures (Adamant/Jolly) minimize SpA, and my Mimikyu loadout won't use SpA?
I've been breeding perfect Pokemans because of my autism, but some guy blew my mind when he said "Special Attackers should have bad Attack IV in case of confuse."
I guess I was applying the same idea in reverse
>>30983165
No, special attack literally doesn't matter on Mimikyu. Think about this shit before you spew off nonsense.
>>30983189
So special attack can be best or no good, there's no difference with Mimikyu or normal attackers in general. Yeah, I thought so from the wikis but it's good to get confirmation from someone who knows what he's doing. Thanks!
>>30983165
There is no reason neither to aim specifically for the minimum, nor for the maximum SAtk IV on purely physical attackers. There are no mechanics that punish you with your SAtk, but you are also not using that stat at all. Just roll over with what you get.
It's insane that it can even do anything. It being viable seemed about as likely as A-Raticate being viable.
>>30983277
It really is insane. I guess no one realized how great of a counter it was to many new threats.
>>30982302
Alolan persian and sandslash. I had overlooked fur coat and generally assume ice types are shit in general
>>30983392
Alola Ninetales caught me by surprise - they didn't tell me how fucking fast it would be
How is Alola Sandslash, I have Sun, not Moon
>>30983277
It having lightning rod is what really makes it stand out.
Shame that once bank comes out and everybody imports their billions of mons that all got tutored Knock Off will make him unviable.
>>30982302
Jolly or adamant?
>>30983458
With slush rush he's fucking sonic speed, which is good as ice types are good offensives.
>>30983458
It's good at killin Tapus with STAB Iron head and dragons with Icicle Crash but it needs Alolan Ninetails on its team and dies easily to Magnezone and several others, it's just so good at killing Tapus that it's worth running.
Despite being an Ultra Beast, I thought one of my new favorite designs as going to be garbage because of Nihilego's defensively horrible Rock/Poison typing. But Nihilego is a badass with its good speed and high special attack.
>>30983517
Adamant is better, imo. He'll be faster than most things already and has Shadow Sneak to cover him if he isn't.
>>30983839
Fuck off, Lusamine
>>30983839
Rock's saving grace is that it's a solid(pun intended) offensive type. Fast offensive Rock types are guaranteed to have a some use.Archeops is an exception.
>>30983509
Nah he'll still be good. People are still using it a lot on the Pokébank ladder on Showdown.
*unzips shell smash*
*teleports behind you*

dont mind me, just tanking hits like a champ and fucking the everloving shit out of fairies
>>30984861
He was all right in my playthrough but I found that Sandslash was the better tanky alolan form fairy counter because he could set up on them and then kill the whole team after.
>>30983517
I also think adamant is better. the extra power after a swords dance and life orb is noticeable, and it doesn't necessarily miss the extra speed since it has shadow sneak anyway
>>30982930
Even with an eviolite it's still trash
>pup
lmao go away in-game shitter
>>30984811
>>30984828
>>30984965
I started to really like minior when I found out that it's immune to status when in meteor form. between that, it's excellent offensive stats, it's great stabs and coverage in earthquake, and shell smash, it's a really potent sweeper. it also has a really cool design.
>>30982930
Lol, you could be using Eviolite Mienfoo who is better at everything Crabrawler could ever do. Crabominable isn't good, but it surely is an improvement over Crabrawler
It's not terrible desu.
With unaware this guy can stall almost anyone to death in 1v1. I've been running it in ranked singles with the following setup and only gotten it knocked out twice in twelve matches, and I was only running trick room in half of those-
Unaware
Careful Nature
252Def, 252, SDef, 4HP, minimal speed and attack
- Toxic
- Soak
- Recover
- Protect/ Safeguard
Mudsdale. Mainly because his prevo looked so goofy. Then it evolved and began just fucking shit up/saving the day.
