Next game won't be for 3DS, reasons behind this is because they're wanting to push people into buying a switch. Also scrapping all those walking and running animations.

B2/W2 poisoned the franchise so badly that I don't think they will ever try a "third version" again. All of the stuff they normally would have put in a third version game has ended up being put in the post-game of the regular versions.

They sold a lot of 3DS's this year. I think we'll get another game on it before the Switch. Probably a Sinnoh remake/revisit over a SM (or XY) third version.

They're probably working a Switch game but it'll be a while.

Masuda already said they aren't working on anything for the Switch and that they are going to wait to see how it performs first.

And "Stars" is a working title that was leaked similar to how Sun/Moon titles were leaked prematurely
So they clearly are working on -something-

Necrozma basically means dead star. Nebby dies at the Aether Foundation part instead of evolving and becomes the requisite beefed up third version of Necrozma
