I kind imagine Apricorn would be old though, like remembers when Pokeballs either weren't widely available, not invented, or just generally unreliable.

Here's molly, my runaway team magma grunt.
She's a spoiled little smug brat who didn't want to be a trainer at all until Team magma marched through Fortree calling for recuits. She was in love with the uniforms and the notion of being in such a "badass family", as she grew up an only child, raised by her aunt. She packed up in the night, snatched up her house pet purugly and bolted. On the long road to magmas base, she managed to scrape up money for pokeballs and start her team.
Upon actually being accepted into team magma, though, she realized it fucking sucked and once again packed up her shit and hit the bricks. That whole "were gonna yell at you and you just have to stand there and take it" vibe really turned Molly off to the whole thing.
Shes began traveling again,lookin for a different, more lax family to join. Upon hearing of team skulls workings in alola, her hopes for family skyrocketed and shes now on her way to the islands
Her team:
>Purugly named Pancake, pretty much her house pet she "stole" when she left home, prefers to stay out of its ball because it's never really been in there, being a more of a pet. Not very good in battle, mostly there for comfort.
>Ursaring named Duncan, evolved from teddiursa when molly tried out for team magma . Teddiursa was the first pokemon she caught in the wild. Easily her strongest in terms of brute strength.
>Torkoal named Mars, pretty much stolen from the team magma, he was given to molly before she went AWOL. He tends to pop out his pokeball often, doesn't listen to Molly very well. He and Pancake don't get along and usually fight each other when Mars breaks out.
>Ekans named Buttons, Molly actively searched for an Ekans after watching an Arbok fight in a tournament. It took weeks, finally she found a shrimpy, smaller than average ekans and caught it. Buttons is still wary of molly, not llowing her to touch him but still listens to her commands loyally.

I've revised her story a little...no bully :(

this is an old, old olllld character of mine i haven't touched in forever; the little biography i had written for her in notepad was dated july '09

her name is patch, short for patricia but also "haha it's a literal pun" because of the obvious. she really is missing the eye, though.

she was from vermillion city and her grandfather was a cook on the s.s. anne, which she spent a lot of her childhood aboard, the idea being that she grew up to be one of the NPCs that you battle while the ship is docked.

she had only a psyduck, named donald because i was underage and thought i was clever. she also claimed she was a famous sea pirate, but she was supposed to be too cute for anyone to take seriously.

This is Kaneda, my PTTU character. our game loosely draws from some of the continuity of the comics. I think our GM is using Pokemon Adventures.

he's originally from Lavender Town, and started off as a n'er-do-well pretty early. he specializes in poison types, but also has some dark and ghost types on his team.

he once trained under Koga, and developed an obsessive crush on his daughter Anzu/Janine, before Koga was implicated with team rocket and disappeared. he's been travelling the world in search of him, hoping that being the man who brought her father back would make Anzu notice him.

after exhausting every place he could think to look in civilized lands, he started to think that Koga was no longer -in- "civilized lands," so when he heard of a research project headed up by several prestigious universities investigating a newly discovered island continent, he bet his bottom dollar, both figuratively and literally, that Koga was there, and signed up with the project as a "type specialist consultant" and was loaded onto a ship.

personality-wise, Kaneda has a lot going on. he holds some of the traditional reverence of pokemon and respect for the dead that suffuses Lavender Town, but is wholly irreverent and crass on most other subjects. he is kind of a shady, sneaky douchebag too, because pickpocketing and breaking & entering were his bread and butter for some years. he firmly believes only fools fight fair, and specializes in dropping a plethora of status effects on his opponents all at once and following with brutal attacks. he's a big fan of punk rock, especially Roxie and the Toxics, having gone to see (or sneaked in to see) several of their concerts. he also worships media idols like Pokestar Studios actress Sabrina, Arcade Star Dahlia, and the pojemon coordinator idol Lisia.

Might as well post some of my own shitty concept art. I don't have a name for her, but she was intended to be the professor's aide in a fan game my lazy ass will never get around to making. She'd act as something of a mother figure, checking up on you constantly throughout your journey since the professor himself wouldn't be bothered to. You'd never battle her throughout the main story, but I had an idea that once you had completed the pokedex she could be fought as a sort of "ultimate boss" with an ridiculously powerful team.
