Only thing I really have to disagree with is Nate and Calem. Nate still strikes me as an Oshawott user and Calem strikes me more as a Chespin user.

I dislike how the anime and nostalgia pandering retconned Red's intended starter.

Bulbasaur is #1 in the dex.
The original mascots were Charizard and Venusaur.
A plant fits a quiet guy like Red, while a dragon fits an arrogant dick like Blue.
Most if not all of the OG art that featured starter choices showed the two with such.
