My hope is that they just use all their resources and time for the next gen.

Stop wasting time with 3rd versions or remakes.

However, if I had to choose between a 3rd version and a remake, I'd hope they did another remake of gen 1.

Third version or sequels. Remakes are very unlikely considering ORAS was fairly recent and DP don't need to be remade just one console Gen after their debut when they're still playable on that console. Gen 7 will be like Gen 5 in that it was just a short Gen for the last part of the console's life span. Then in 2018 or 2019 we'll get Gen 8 and then Gen 4 remakes.

Yeah that's what I'm saying, they won't be remade this Gen because 3DS is one console Gen after the DS and you can still play DS games on it, so DP remakes will come next Gen ie on the Switch in Gen 8.
