Nice projection. There are ways to deal with many of the mons left in the Alola Dex, especially Garchomp. Next year would be different since there is no concerted effort to focus on these new mons as much, hence the dex opening up.

Low BST
Terrible BST distribution
Lacking a crucial move that makes sense both flavor-wise and competitively

A guy, fearing a Wide Guard I suppose, used Thunderbolt on his Koko instead of Discharge, but it seems like he forgot there was a fucking Marowak right next to it. I can't remember the EVS, it was something like 252 HP/220 SpA/34 Def with a modest nature. Shell Trap/Draco Meteor/Flamethrower/Protect.
Shell trap is neat, but I'm wondering if I should change the EVS or breed another with a different nature so it can take hits better to utilize shell trap. I was thinking about pairing with a bulldoze mudsale under trick room so shell trap triggers when I want it to and I don't take as much damage as I would from EQ. Or just using EQ with grassy terrain under certain circumstances, since bulldoze would make opposing mons slower which is pointless when you're under trick room.

First thing I notice is that you have lots of slow mons and no means of speed control. Marowak+Muk really appreciate Trick Room, and Fini+Celesteela don't strictly need it but usually work well in it.

Celesteela should really be subseed: using flamethrower only gives you a slight edge in the mirror, while hurting your ability to win pretty much every other matchup. Focus on using your other team members to beat opposing Celesteela.

Overall hail is rarely used as an archetype, Ninetales is just used because it's so good in itself and Aurora Veil is great.

Trick question. There's no good Hail teams.

On a more serious note, hail as an archetype is very underwhelming. You usually don't need more than Ninetales/Vanilluxe and A-Sandslash for the Hail core/abusers, everything else should be things that support Hail in one way or another. The most I'd recommend is another Blizzard spammer like say Z-Coversion into Blizzard Porygon-Z.

However, most people with Ninetales and Vanilluxe are teams that have those two on it rather than Hail teams. Hail has always been underwhelming and this format is no exception.

Having max defense investment on a pokémon with a sash is counter productive.

You should consider running Scald instead of hydro pump for more consistency (Scald is a 100 accuracy move).

You will never use roost on that flygon effectively. There aren't many things that hit it for little damage. Also, you should consider running it with a timid nature to outspeed stuff.

Raichu should really carry either protect or fake out instead of either Thunder or Grass Knot. Also, Timid.

Bewear has a terrible collection of moves. You should google that pokémon and think this through.

Mudsdale seems passable, though the EVs are not really optimized. I'd argue that Close Combat probably works better there than Rock Slide, but that is up to you.

You should play with this and rethink most EVs.

Explanations:
Poliwrath is pretty straightforward, it runs the boosting move, two strong STABs, and protect.

If you're willing to breed for a modest nature Pelipper I believe Modest sash to be one of it's stronger sets (it's been pretty successful on double duck teams recently). Moves are again straightforward, EVs are to maximize damage so you can kill shit with hurricane.

Tapu Bulu deletes gastrodon / other bulky waters which your rain duo could struggle to break, plus it helps against Tapu Koko. Wood Hammer, Horn Leech, and Protect are pretty important for providing 1) raw damage output 2) sustain 3) being the most important move in doubles. Last slot is somewhat flexible - I use substitute on a somewhat similar rain team because often times people will double protect to stall out the last turn of tailwind, giving you the chance to sub for free. Miracle Seed lets you get even more power out of your wood hammers, the speed puts you comfortably above base 130s in tailwind so you should also outspeed most scarf stuff.

Porygon2 provides the most reliable way of denying Trick Room - reversing it with your own Trick Room. It's also crazy bulky and gives you a safe switch against various attackers. Trick Room, Recover, and Eviolite are all mandatory - the other moves can be any two of toxic, tri attack, ice beam, thunderbolt, and shadow ball, and EVs can be tweaked if you want more bulk on one side of the spectrum.

Muk destroys Bulu and Lele (especially under TR or tailwind). It's also just a generally good pokemon with solid bulk and typing and being one of the few knock off users in the format. Poison Jab, Knock Off, Protect, and Gluttony+Iapapa are mandatory. Last move is kinda filler, can be just about anything you find useful. EVs are from Wolfe's London team I think, can probably be changed.

The main reason for Raichu over another Electric Type is Fake Out - it gives you far more opportunities to set up z-splash, to tailwind, or whatever. Other than that you need thunder or thunderbolt to accomplish the goal of hitting Celesteela, and Protect is pretty important, especially because it isn't running sash. The last slot is fairly flexible though. Psychic is a good STAB attack, I'm just not sure if it actually hits much that your team doesn't already handle well. Encore is also an interesting option - again, because people often protect to stall out tailwind turns and this lets you punish that. You can also use something like HP Grass for another way to hit Gastrodon.

If you mean the Lancaster thing last weekend, that was just organised by a university TCG league who seemed confused at why players would travel outside their own city for a Premier Challenge, and complained that people posted about it on other forums and facebook groups instead of just their own private group.

From what I gather, TCG Leagues tend to keep to themselves more and are primarily run by locals for locals, so the idea that premier challenges should be open to everybody was odd to them.
