Daily reminder Sun and Moon are hard games
>>30957832
You seem to have posted the wrong image, OP.
Here, let me help.
>>30957883
Thats a rematch dumbass
>didn't even realize this because I swept his ass with Ribombee
But ok, faggot-san. The movesets can be dumb, this is true. You're forgetting, however, that Sun/Moon are literally the first games to make use of EVs. To a lesser extent natures and IVs are used as well, but the former represent a MASSIVE increase in difficulty.
For comparison, in ORAS most trainers had 0 EVs AND IVs.
In Sun/Moon important fights you can expect 31 IVs in crucial stats, min-maxed EVs, and in some cases beneficial natures.

Are you saying you don't use the rematch function and expect the regular E4 battle to be challenging?
Oh. I'll just hide the thread then.
>>30957892
this explains why everything had so much fuckin HP and nearly 2 hit OHKO my entire slow-ass team despite high defenses.
I think its the best direction you can go when it comes to difficulty in non-endgame pokimans.
>>30957832
Daily reminder that OP cherry-picked.
In addition to the EV/IV case presented, the less options the CPU has in moves, the more likely it is to damage you (unless you have XY-tier garbage movesets, which are absent in SM so fuck you)

>Dhelmise has no steel moves
w-what the fuck
>>30957898

funny how I found hala to be infinitely harder than acerola because of the raw HP/ATK power of his mons and their spam of offensive moves while acerola's entire team was murdered by my crunch raticate and her stupid decisions to use focus energy, confuse ray and whirlpool
also I played on set + no exp share
>pokemon
>ever hard

isn't a steel type

Daily reminder that this post is bait and you fell for it.
>>30957971
Same goes for Kahili
>>30957985
a good example was hau's psychic spam raichu, caught me completely off guard.
>>30958015
Steelworker basically gives STAB to Steel-type move.
>>30958015
It's ability is steal worker.
>>30958034
>>30958036
Oh, never mind then

But it doesn't really counter anything though

Shit had me on the ropes.

That's just making excuses for Gamefreak's piss poor AI.
>>30957892
Are there any full breakdowns of this anywhere? Like IV/EV spreads and Natures for key fights in Sun and Moon? If most trainers in ORAS had 0 IVs and no EVs, I'm curious about which ones did have some, and if they were specialized at all. It would be pretty interesting to see how Trial Captains/Rivals/Lusamine/E4 built their Pokemon.
Do Totem Pokemon have EVs?
>>30957939
Post game doesn't matter.
Once you beat the Elite 4 all that matters is battling online.
HGSS and GSC are the only time post game was ever relevant.
>>30957988
That Mandibuzz felt indestructible and hit harder than it should've.
>>30958562
what was post game in them? inb4 lol kanto
truth is, they're part of the game and the gyms are scaled like it as well
they had z-moves? i guess i just one hit ko'd all of them because it wasnt that hard except the flying one
>>30957832
You forgot the part where all of their pokes are EV trained to have max offense and speed/bulk.
>>30957988
>pelipper buffed up
>doesn't use it
>>30957832
The AI is fucking retarded in pokémon, they gave trainers less moves so they actually hit you with the good damaging stuff instead of being retarded and spamming growl and ember like Green/Blue did.
Look at Lusamine's Clefable, it'd be even more of a monster if it wouldn't waste half of its turns spamming metronome.
Having just 2 or even 1 move isn't bad by itself if the moves are good, in fact as you can see Crawbrawler hits with CC and Ice Hammer which are nukes.

hahahaha NO

>First games to make use of Evs.
Kek. No they aren't. Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness did this a long time ago. And I wouldn't be surprised if some trainers in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald had the same done to them.

Underage not allowed.
>>30958015
The big difference is that when a Pokémon like Crabominable only has two moves in the first fight, they're it's two best STAB moves. Meanwhile, Exeggutor is stuck with Barrage and Stomp.
>>30958734
Pelipper setting up rain would have made the fight trivial because of 100% accuracy thunder
>>30961314
Even after Intimidate Ice Hammer almost nuked my Gyarados.
And I knew before hand that the thing isn't that Bulky, yet Aqua Tail barely hit for half it's health.
