Do you think they'll keep regional variants and Z-moves in future generations?

What about the ride gear mechanic? They can't just go back to HMs now, but wouldn't it get stale to have the same Tauros and Charizard to get around with?

And if the Switch is successful enough to completely replace the 3DS, what happens to Pokemon Amie/Refresh if there is no touch screen support? Does it get scrapped, or merely dumbed down?

The ride gear mechanics I think they should have at least 3 options for each type of ride so there's some choice.

I imagine Z-Moves are more likely to stay than Megas as every pokemon is able to use one and their usage is slightly more tactical as you can only use it once and it's not just an instant overall buff in stats.

Regional variants I'm not sure of, I'd like it if they did and chose more from other generations too. Hopefully they'll get more creative with typings

That's not true. When connected to the TV, the Switch has to be docked. It can not be used while in the dock.

And so far, touch screen has not been confirmed. I think I'd say it's more likely to not be there due to what I just mentioned about the screen not having a display while docked, and the joypad/pro controllers don't have touch screens. If they want the experience to be the same docked and undocked, they would not include touch functionality. But I guess we'll just have to wait until January to be sure.

I can see them making more Mega Evolutions and regional variants purely so they can slow down introducing more Pokemon.
