A lot of people question his outfit, but my theory is that during his gambling spree, he went to a ryokan in a Japanese region and made off with the yukata (nemaki) they give you since he bet his fucking clothes. It's not something you wear outside, you only wear it inside the hotel or to sleep.
That's why he has his shoes from BW, because that's all he had left.

While this theory is interesting, I would like to point it out it's wrong, in many ways. For one, he hasn't "aged". He looks exactly the same, with white hair. And that white hair could not be from aging. It's too symmetrical and graying doesn't start from sides. It's usually the middle that's first.

And his personality is still the same. He still takes his accepts his loss gracefully. He isn't bitching about how he should've won. He is just disappointed a bit, but quickly moves on. That's how he always was, but now, with SM, he can just show a lot more emotions.

It's definitely not a kimono which WOULD be hot, they just translated it that way because most English-speaking people would know what that is. At the very least it's a cheap yukata, which are worn in summer, and nemaki are a specific type of yukata. Nemaki are not worn outside, ever, and you don't wear loafers with them. It's like pajamas.

Plus, the thin cotton would be lighter to wear than what characters like Colress, Wicke, etc. are wearing. They're surprisingly comfy.

That is exactly why I suspect it isn't graying. Especially considering characters like Looker, who are clearly older and have more stressful jobs didn't have any graying.

That is quite a minor detail compared to, say, Burnet, who's changed considerably in just 2 years.

What? I'm saying that other characters can have nearly any rainbow combination of colors naturally so it's perfectly reasonable to assume this is natural. We all know it's normal in animu and Japanese games. It's notable that the art book doesn't point out that it's dyed, and once again, it's a common stylistic choice.

Even in reality, not everyone ages exactly the same, and stress commonly accelerates it. Look at people in stressful situations, like POWs and people in positions of power like US presidents.
