just run around and level it up and make sure it's wearing a soothe bell. Try to catch friendship mons in luxury balls beforehand, my golbat evolved into a crobat on its next levelup. You can also give it a massage in the southern town on Akala or give it the berries that raise friendship but lower EVs. I personally just have friendship mons as my leading mon when I'm in the autism box hatching eggs. It'll typically evolve on its next levelup due to all the steps i took hatching those eggs.

Okay, so, pretty much everyone understands the lore to Sun and Moon, but I wanna recap to see if I got it all right.

Going from Malie Library, the Box Legendary appeared from an Ultra Portal in front of Alola's royalty, and although they immediately bowed before it, the Tapus decided to battle it. In the end, the Box Legendary won, "shone it's light"/"cast it's pall" on the royalty, and tasked the Tapus with taking care of its offspring, Cosmog. Afterwards, Alola's royalty thanked the Box Legendary through the playing of the Sun and Moon Flutes, which thereafter were mute presumably due to the lack of the Cosmog line being present at the Altar.

Speeding up to the present, the main reason Cosmog pushed Lillie to the ruins was to reunite with the Tapus. And the reason why Tapu Koko chose the Player to have a Z-ring was that (s)he protected Cosmog on the bridge leading to the Ruins of Conflict.

TLDR: The Tapus are Cosmog's foster parents, and the only reason you are alive and have a z-ring is that they wanted Cosmog off their backs.

once you hit a certain rank in festival plaza, you can request shops from visitors. keep asking around till you get a dye shop ("Team Yellow" or some variant).

you technically only need one dye shop to dye anything any color, but only the shop theme color can be paid for with festival points--the others require specific berries. the higher the rank of the shop (the more stars), the more hues are available--the base is just the plain color, two unlocks a lighter hue, and three a darker.

i think you can only have one dyed item at a time, since you need to have a white version of the item to dye.

check shop lists for the striped socks, i don't know which ones you're talking about.

so I'm EV training some of my post-game mons and managed to get pokerus on them. Which is awesome, but I think they must have buffed how pokerus works.

By my count with the power item my mon should be get 18 EV points in the stat per kill with pokerus, but I seem to be maxing the stat out much earlier than I expect to, by about 100 points. Has anyone figured this out? Or is my math just horrid.

How do I get into IVs and EVs? Like where do I start? Ive been playing since Gen 1 just casually, but ever since Gen 6 I have been wanting to get into online battling

EVs are simple. I'd look up a guide on EV training with SOS battles. For most stuff, especially casual play, put 252 EVs into a stat you need (usually speed) and 252 into the attacking stat you will use. Put 4 into a defense or HP.

IVs are mostly inconsequential in casual play. They make small differences to stats. They can be viewed with the "Judge" feature in the PC and are pretty easy to understand. You can breed good IVs or get them through SOS battles. Personally I get stuff with good IVs from wonder trade pretty often, so that works too.

It's easier with wild smeargles as they're more common, and you don't have to delete the other moves, you just use the move (if it's an attacking move, just wait until it calls for help and then faint the original with the move you want to sketch, but outside of fake out, smeargle shouldn't be using attacking moves anyway unless it's for breeding purposes.) and then switch into smeargle and sketch the wild smeargle.
