Who else wishes that Gamefreak would've taken more influence from French culture when creating gen 6's pokemon? Gen 5's pokemon were able to take a bunch of inspiration from NYC + America in general (see pic related, as well as the Pidove line, Timburr line, Sandile line, Rufflet line, etc), while gen 6 only really has:
>Pyroar (coat of arms)
>Furfrou (designer French poodles)
>Spritzee line (based on French perfumes + masquerade parties)
>Slurpuff (based on a French pastry)
>Goomy line (based on a French slug cryptid)
Granted, this could be attributed to the drastic difference in size between generations (generation 5 just barely beats out gen 6 and 7 combined in size), but generation 7 was able to introduce a bunch of pokémon with origins rooted in Hawaiian/tropical culture and geology.

>no Mega Mr. Mime in Gen 6
It's even a Kanto pokemon for those delicious pandering points, what a wasted opportunity GameFreak.
>>30922266
If Gamefreak weren't incompetent shits, these would've been our non-mascot legendary group in Kalos.
>>30922349
>if they weren't incompetent, they'd have rehashed the worst-designed Legendary pokemon!
???
Surely you're not implying Unova's godawful legendaries were worth doing twice, little Unovabortion?
>>30922371
I think he saying that they should have been Kalos instead of Unova, not both.
>>30922371
I think the implication is that they should have been in Gen 6 where they would have fit better (musketeers) than Gen 5 where they were just... there. Also whatever your favorite gen is is shit. kys
>>30922266
To be fair what animals are typically french and only french? I can only think of poodles
>>30922538
escargots

I don't particularly like Megas, but Mega Mr. Mime or a Mr. Mime evo would've been great. I also think some sort of Smeargle evo would've been great (with Protean as an ability).
Mega Banette but with more marionette traits, some sort of knight pokemon, some sort of model/fashion pokemon, a common Tauros/Miltank evolution, etc would've all been neat.

A Bug/Dragon pseudo is a pretty unique idea. I like Goodra as it is, but a version that was more slug like/more like Sliggoo would've been interesting to see.
>>30922266
Well there is also a frog starter
Also, how are trash bags and pidgeons "typically American"?

Have you ever been to New York?
Gen 6 drew inspiration from all of European myth, not just France. Hence the Nordic-themed legendaries, the Knight/Mage/Thief starters, fairies, and haunted swords and trees.
