It still doesn't account for much. There isn't enough non-ice types that benefit from Hail. Sandstorm is good because multiple types get a benefit from it, and there are pokemon that aren't those types that have abilities that it supports. Hail just has ice-types and makes Blizzard auto-hit. That's not good enough.

Absolutely. While it's Sp Atk is passable at best, It's ability (which is, for all purposes, a pseudo adaptability for electric moves) let's it hit like a truck. Also, Fairy+Electric coverage is resisted by very few things, making it a pretty effective sweeper/cleaner.

I dare say that it's so good that people wouldn't have discovered how good A-Marowak is otherwise.

Well, A-Ninetales is ridiculously good. It certainly wouldn't hurt for a couple other types to be safe in jail. I would settle for some decent pokemon non ice-types getting Slush Rush or other abilities that keep them safe from hail damage.

Rest is fine.

Its really good. I wouldn't call it great or anything, but its really good. Incredibly fast Volt-Turn, solid movepool, terrain thats useful and usually doesn't fuck you over (Fini, Bulu). Its attack stats leave a lot to be desired, but it still does its job better than any Electric type in the game

Literally all of these pokemon are faster when uninvested than 252 speed adamant A-Maro. Most of those pokemon invest in speed, so even jolly A-Maro wouldn't outspeed.

For 5 turns, with its electric moves, it has the equivalent of like base 148 special attack. Plus, Electric is a good terrain in general. It's also very fast.

It's shortcomings is that outside of electric moves in ET, it's damage is not that impressive since it either has to go full special or forced to go mixed, where it doesn't really invest in all that much in it's attack stat. Wild Charge hits really hard, but with Recoil+Life Orb, you'll be dead after two attacks.

Hopefully some of the tutors in Stars/Delta/DPremakes/Kanto Re-Revisit/whatever will be Zing Zap and Play Rough.

It's still a 1-for-1 trade which is nice, but is by no means 'good'. Also we're assuming there are no rocks or spikes on the field before the initial hit, which we know how competitive pokemon works these days, there are always rocks or spikes on the field.

Protect is used to scout out enemy moves. Z-Mirror Move gives you the Z_MOVE of the move your opponent used i.e. opponent used Stone Miss, you use Continental Crush.

More importantly, Z-Mirror Move gives you +2Atk. Being able to fire off a super powered Bravest Bird(Forgot name of the flying Z-move) is a cherry on top. No-one sees it coming.

They should make Psychics immune to hail (because Hail and Hail abilities are greatly associated with Snow in Pokemon, and also Psychic in Pokemon is associated with the mind, and people really like snow, on average as it reminds them of Snow Days, Winter Holidays, etc) and then make it so that Ice Types in Hail take half damage from Rock moves

I think in this metagame specs mag is just better than koko. Koko is being put on teams to counter celesteela and fini mainly. But you run into the problem of every single ground type and a-maro almost completely walling you. Mag on the other hand traps celesteela, still counters fini and also fucks over a handful of other really common picks (ferrothorn, scizor, skarm). The other great thing is that if they are going to switch into a ground type/a-marro then specs flash cannon still hits like a truck on almost everything and eliminates mamoswine as a counter. The only thing mag is lacking is u-turn and speed but that doesn't really matter when it's steel type and hits hard enough to force switches

They're both special electric attackers, but you want to use Tapu Koko like Raikou and Jolteon to pressure and KO other fastmons while having splendid coverage on top of that. Magnezone's main role is to trap stuff and can't do what Koko does because it gets outsped by everything.
