I'm still sorta baffled by GF's decision to remove baby-mode from the Battle whatever. You now need actually good teams to get anywhere in the Tree and you want to EV train those teams, but without going through the Tree you can't get the items to speed that training up.

You can literally beat singles mode with freshly caught tapus, UBs, and your in-game team unless you're as fucking brainded as the AI. Even if not, you can still just keep spamming it until you get enough BP. You get BP even for losing at battle royale, so you could just get 3 things that can learn explosion/self-destruct and spam that. Getting the power items is not difficult or tedious at all, this isn't some catch-22.
